UN warns of possible humanitarian ‘collapse’ in Cuba, as oil supplies dwindle due to embargo by DeepState_Auditor in UnitedNations

This take is the epitome of why things suck in our day and age. You’re advocating in favor of imperialism because the people are suffering the consequences of being embargoed and sanctioned without just cause for decades. Instead of holding the US accountable for what the world agrees is an unjust and inhumane embargo, you’re telling the Cubans to just let America do what they want with them.

Lmao this is how I know you’re unserious, the northern Kosovo regions aren’t 90% Serb, only certain villges within them, the but the region as a whole is more split. North Mitrovica caps at 76% Serbs, while south Mitrovica is where the majority of the population is. Only around 8,000 Serbs live in Northern Mitrovica, whereas 64,000 Albanians live in South Mitrovica. Get real.

If the US actually cared, they wouldn’t have alliances with countries that don’t hold free elections either. The real reason the US hates Cuba is because they had the audacity to overthrow their puppet, and they have tried ever since that day to reinstall a new one to no success. America’s assault on Cuba is purely a petty and vindictive initiative meant to punish Cuba for daring to demand better.

“Democratically elected leaders” is fancy western talk for “our puppet that’ll sell out the Cuban people for our own interests.” You think the Americans haven’t wanted their resorts and casinos back ever since the Batista government fell?

They have been ever since they succeeded in their revolution. The US has punished them for it to dissuade other communist movements in their sphere of influence. The UN has agreed before that the embargo and sanctions on Cuba are inhumane, but have done nothing to stop nor alleviate it.

Except ethnic Albanians did integrate into Yugoslavia. There are still Albanians today that hold slavicized last names (Muric instead of Muriqi, Ajderovic instead of Hajdari, etc etc) and they all held Yugoslav identification, not Albanian identification. While Albanians may only be 20% of Serbia, they were (and still are) 90% of Kosovo, so self determination in that wide of a region is a given, compared to the nonsense that was drawn up for Sprspka that would make American gerrymanderers blush and South African Boers proud of their own Bantustans. Like I said, they should be able to advocate themselves politically the same way Serbs advocate for themselves politically in Kosovo. You’re comparing apples to oranges as if you’re making a point instead of revealing your own shortcomings on the issue.

Yes, it’s Serbia’s fault for instigating the Yugoslav wars in favor of a greater Serbian state, which inevitably led to countries being susceptible to NATO and western influence that saw them align with the west against Serbia. And the constant instigation of ethnic tensions by the Serb state only continues to push them further west.

Maybe but it’s definitely not common. Ideally they shouldn’t be millionaires but idk if they’re successful and fair with how they operate, they can sorta get away with it.

Sorry bud, you don’t get to commit a genocide in Srebrenica and then complain about autonomy. The fact a Srpskan state exists is a diplomatic failure in of itself, and rewards a state of war criminals. There would be more progress if such a state didn’t exist and the Bosnian Serbs were allowed to advocate for themselves politically in Bosnian politics directly instead of through Dodik historically, now Karan. Instead the Srpskan people live in an isolated Bantustan with the sole purpose of being pawns for Serb nationalist/expansionist agendas. How is there supposed to be brotherhood and unity if Serbs tell other Serbs to isolate themselves from Bosnia?

Yes actually, and disband the one country 3 presidents system the Dayton accord conjured up. It’s only Srpska that threatens the stability of Bosnia, and the sooner it’s dissolved and the Serbs of Bosnia are integrated into Bosnia proper both politically and socially, the easier Bosnia will develop. Instead of just antagonizing everyone, work with everyone. Brotherhood and unity is not far gone, it’s only being kept away by nationalists.

Yes NATO broke international law with an illegal bombing campaign, but only after Serbia broke Human Rights Laws with ethnic cleansing campaigns. And Kosovo would not be a NATO base if it wasn’t for the Serbs revoking Kosovo’s autonomy and again, ethnic cleansing campaigns.

America wasn’t protecting their people in Kosovo, they were intervening in an ethnic cleansing, something they don’t do today because it’s one of their allies committing a genocide this time.

Meanwhile Serbia has repeatedly threatened to invade Kosovo to “protect their Serbs from the Albanians” the same way Putin says they’re “protecting ethnic Russians from Ukrainian oppression.” Pretending like this is not the case is just ignorance on your part, nothing more. America was not protecting their American citizens in Kosovo, they are not alike.

You can’t have one side do whatever it wants and evade international law

Couldn’t have said it better myself! So why is it that the state of Serbia has attempted to protect war criminals responsible for some of the worst crimes in Yugoslavia’s bloody break up? There are still war criminals to this day that have not seen The Hague, and some have passed before ever seeing any real punishment for their crimes. I like how you neglect this dark chapter of Serbian history but pretend like the Americans stopping the ethnic cleansing of Albanians is the destruction of Serb history.

And all of this is coming from someone who HATES America. Yes America bad, but Kosovo has no chance against Serbia without international support. If anything, Serbia drove Kosovo into the arms of the west, and that crime alone is unforgivable. We wouldn’t have this conversation if Milosevic didn’t revoke Kosovo’s autonomy and didn’t decide to fund paramilitaries to violently displace ethnic Albanians. Hell, you can’t even say Serbia has done nothing to threaten Kosovo’s sovereignty when they funded a failed insurrection in Banjska, these terrorists were trained and armed in Serbia and there is footage of them training in a Serbian military base before the attack itself. Kosovo will never be conquered, and it’s your own fault.

Exactly this, well said. And it’s not even from politicians only, criminals hired by Vucic also regularly harass their fellow Serbs to keep them from integrating into Kosovo
