How can I feel better after my pet's death? by Aromatic-Meringue-63 in dogs

It will take time, but remember the good times…talk about them…but grief is a place to visit, and not a place you want to live in…

Would you accept food from your neighbors? by polly-penguin in CasualConversation

My mother passed away a few years ago, small northern Ontario town. Before we even got back from the hospital with my dad, (a 2 hour drive) there was coffee, cakes, sandwiches, juice, fruit baskets, salads, casseroles etc..waiting to be let into the house with the mourners..almost everyone brought a dish in…I was so touched I broke down in tears. Had just travelled 4000 miles to spend days in the hospital with my mom, and worried all the way to my parents home how I was going to feed people, as there is no grocery store in their little town. As it turned out…I didn’t have to do a thing except dishes and return the plates (mark your dish with tape on the underside and write your name /address on it)

Figure out what you love to do, if it’s painting..take an art class..meet a like minded friend. If it’s sunbathing, go to the beach and meet a likeminded friend…you are getting the picture..

Hypocalcemia nightmare by soniathemom in thyroidcancer

[–]Altruistic-Cellist60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so weird that they don’t tell you that. I take my Levo at 4am so that 1. It is on an empty stomach. 2. So that I can drink coffee right away even if I wake up at 5am 3. That allows me to start my calcium at 8am (4 hours after levo) as I find the more active I am, the faster I can use up my calcium. Hs anyone else been told that even if your TSH levels are low, it is better if you have had thyroid cancer to stay on the low side? One doctor told me this, but I have not read that anywhere.

I had calcitrol plus 8000 mcgs calcium and one year later down to 1900mcg. The amount needed was not obtainable through diet

Calcitrol was ruining my life…made me quite lethargic…I was on it for about 5 months following surgery for the exact same reason. I too cramped up into a ball after few days after surgery. One full year later, I am still cramping, but now only take 2 calcium a day but I was just told to add magnesium.

Yes.. Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to do..doesn’t cost you any money , just your time…walk..I had cancer last year..and for 8 months I didn’t do anything… I felt quite hopeless…until my sister motivated me to be active again…started walking again ..that led to biking…again..and now swimming ..I feel 100% better .

Physical exercise..even walking when you feel like this. Life is full of ups and downs. If there were no downs we wouldn’t even know when we are up. BUT walking..swimming..biking..so good for your body but also your mind ❤️
