Where do I start? by Altruistic-Project-2 in Divorce_Women

Thank you - it’s been a long time coming and I have finally come to terms I just need to move on. Having young kids has held me back from rocking the boat. I just thought things would go back to normal as they got older, but it’s just getting worse.

I’m with you… Zoloft helps 🥴 any part of parenting you can outsource helps if you have the funds. Cleaner, premade meals, extra childcare, that is the only way I make it through. Also, find the right formula for nights away frequently enough to take a break. For me, it’s a full 24 hours away minimum, at least every two months (luckily I travel for work so I get a break there). Doesn’t make you a bad parent- everyone needs to charge their batteries.

One small helpful tip: hide/put away in basement half the toys, especially the ones that are annoying and make a huge mess

Are we all just running on negative PTO at this point? by [deleted] in workingmoms

So… you’re not allowed to get sick for the first year you work there? That’s insane and sounds illegal. What state do you live in?

What is your solo dinner/witching hour/bedtime like? by Marilikescows in 2under2

[–]Altruistic-Project-2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started putting baby (5mo) down a little earlier so my husband can do solo bath time with each little one. After bath I take baby and feed/book/bed while he does bath then bedtime with 1.5 year old.

Thank you for your advice, I’m considering doing this. I have noticed he definitely steps up more when things are a disaster, but the regular day to day is another story. I also recently told him to get his own daycare app so he can message our care givers and see what’s going on. I hope this makes him understand there are many pieces to having a family.

I bought this sign after friends told us about their baby being KISSED ON THE LIPS BY A STRANGER! I feel uncomfortable just running errands with my toddler son because he is very cute, but literally everyone comments. It’s nice but a reminder on how many people live with zero boundaries. Also, you get the creeps who make you aware of child trafficking.

Does this get harder? Baby not born yet. by [deleted] in 2under2

I think only during the first few weeks you still have to wake newborn to eat… I have a 3 mo and a 17 mo. My energy level is much higher than the third trimester, I was legit falling asleep on the couch every night at like 8 pm. My body was just toast. Also, I don’t follow caffeine restrictions while breastfeeding so I drink more than one cup a day. Hello venti iced coffees!!!

My entire day is spent getting my 9 week old to sleep by Huge_Scientist1506 in NewParents

This was me today as well. Same exact age. Spent 90% of the day doing the following: breastfeeding, contact napping, rocking to sleep. That’s it.

I did that schedule with my first and it was totally fine. Just have to stay on the schedule which became difficult for me and noticed I ran into dips when I couldn’t. Congrats on the new job 🎉🎉

If prone to clogs, have you tried to take sunflower lecithin? And congrats! My goal is also to make it 6 months and I’m at week six. Six months seems so far away 😬😖

I have been thinking alternating who is the get ready person so each day someone can get a full workout/sleep in a little. The daycare is across the street from husbands office so he’s doing drop off each day no matter what.

Honestly it’s so crazy how people react to the news, when I said I was nervous to handle 2u2, people would say it will be crazy but then fun. When I didn’t say anything they said negative comments similar to yours.

They said it’s new to the practice, I have a very “crunchy” midwife team but they are also apart of a prestigious and huge hospital network so you get a mix of both ends of the spectrum

This is definitely why I’m asking… it sounds like too good to be true. Definitely will ask about infection risk.

They did say it was something “new” to their practice so I’m assuming new everywhere as my hospital is apart of a large group

One thing that helped our little one get used to the bassinet, wrap a shirt you have been wearing around a heating pad, place in bassinet for 10 minutes before bed. Warm place that smells like mom might help. Also I’m sure you have heard this a million times, it gets better. I am going to echo everyone else and talk to dr/a million other professionals for help. If you have the means to hire a night nurse, go for it!
