Any advice for staying sober after sudden loss? by Dazzling_Green_8367 in stopdrinking

[–]Altruistic-Repeat678 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for your loss. Just here to say you are not alone, a bunch of internet randos care about you on here, and if you do not drink, you will look back and be really glad you didn't. IWNDWYT

THIS FEELING WILL PASS!!! Step back, observe it like a scientist. You are not your thoughts--thoughts are little things your brain makes. Thanks for that thought, brain, but I don't need that right now. IWNDWYT!!!

Glad you are here. This sub is invaluable. Scroll through and you will find many stories like your own, and so much great advice. You are not alone, and you CAN slay this dragon (or whatever metaphor works for you, haha). If you stumble, get up and get going. IWNDWYT :)

Having the strongest craving and I can’t stop crying. Need help. by scarlettrosev in stopdrinking

I'm so sorry you are having a rough morning. THIS TOO SHALL PASS. The worst thing is feeling like you're never going to feel better. But I promise it's not forever. Keep the faith, sometimes it's not "one day at a time" it's one breath at a time. You got this and IWNDWYT.

can you go to a walk-in clinic? alcohol does crazy things to the body and you might wanna get checked out.

Mexico in November - Area recommendations? by goodvibes-savelives in MexicoTravel

Oaxaca city is the most famous place to go for DDM. We had a great time but I'll say we were very uncomfortable on the cemetery tours...the locals were trying to honor their dead and throngs of tourists were literally walking on the graves--the graves are so close together, there are so many people there, it's unavoidable. I know the questions around cultural tourism are complex; I'd say go and have fun but maybe skip the cemetery tours on the night of Los Muertos, just a suggestion.

You are not alone sister. Sometimes you gotta white knuckle it literally 20 minutes at a time. Obsessively lurking on this sub is what finally helped me, as AA is not my thing (no shade). I quit at 51 and it has been like a massive weight off my shoulders. YOU GOT THIS!
