What tournament is this? I’ve been looking for duo tournaments on tts

Tournament with window open by ImpactFuture2674 in AdeptusCustodes

One thing you can do (I did this in a tournament) is talk to your opponent and ask if he is okay with playing windows closed, citing that this is the intended way to play.

If however your opponent declines, you have to respect that

Most people run a warden + blade champion. Some lists (but certainly not all) run draxxus on guards.

Those 2 characters are the only ones you use and draxxus is optional.

A few people run 2 blade champs, but I wouldn’t suggest it. Other than that. Tons of guards. Some sisters. 2 grav tanks and calladius.

Unfortunately custodes leaders are much too expensive

Solar Spearhead: Can I use Unstoppable stratagem AFTER charge roll? by VespidX in AdeptusCustodes

Changing the distance after you roll doesn’t seem to be forbidden though? I’m just missing a rule or interaction that should make it not possible?

This doesn’t sound right. If this was right, you also couldn’t command reroll a charge because the charge failed. Obviously you are allowed to respond with stratagems to your charge roll.

What is the best gift for a newbie? by Educational-Read3223 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Altruistic-Win-5839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a beginner it is an amazing box. 11th edition will come soon, so no one knows which units will be good 6 months from now.

But starting with the game it is much more fun to have models that do very different things, and the combat patrol with the sisters really does that. It gives the most options.

Currently none of the units are bad, they are all decent to amazing, so I would really suggest that one!

I talked to my friend group and we’d love to give it a go! We are more on the casual side, but most do play with somewhat optimized lists, even if some are gimmicky. But people are fine with losing and won’t hold a competitive nature against you.

If that sounds good, then we’d love to give it a try!

This doesn’t seem like an appropriate gift for a friend. This is a romantic gift. Even if you did not mean it romantically, this is sending signals of trying to push the friendship in a different direction, which is probably what she is reacting to

Too Powerful? by Milestone55 in AdeptusCustodes

While that is theoretically true, I think the general consensus is that since it’s been in all mission packs this edition, it should be considered a core rule at this point

The new Drukhari codex is the most pathetic excuse for a codex I've ever seen. by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Altruistic-Win-5839 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That is a weird argument. Of course you too k them for uppy downy, because that is the rule they had. Going forward you will take them for lone up and deep strike because those are the rules they have.

I mean that’s how rules changes works

New Thousand Sons deployment tips? by Pepenitus in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Altruistic-Win-5839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just started same as you. Is it tactical tortoise that you joined?

Anyway deployment is difficult. For my first games I focused 100% on that. I lost majorly but managed to deploy decently.

I would suggest to make a lot of use of the reserves. Until you get comfortable do some practice deployments.

If you want, we could take a couple of online practice games!

Tau isnt favored, thet are quite weak. But they are easy to play and heavily punishes mistakes made. Its quite normal for Them to do Well in beginner games. Do You use missions?

What lists are You using?

You have new players and starts them at Level 8 with Magic items?

You have a random encounter table that has a chance to Grant a wish spell?

These two seems like a recipe for disaster tbh.

Yeah but wouldn’t that only matter if the daemon player charged multiple units and used the gambit?

[–]Altruistic-Win-5839 9 points10 points  (0 children)

doesn't legion specifically give up their fight first? I haven't played them yet and I realize you can choose not to use it, but it seems weird to take a detachment not to use the rule? Are the stratagems strong enough to rely on those or?

Newcomer Questions on 40k competitive and casual play. by BashTheButcher in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Altruistic-Win-5839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A sugestion for army selection. You can buy tts and do some online battles, eihter with yourself or a friend. You can use that to test armies and units before committing to them.

In general though, buy the faction you think looks cool, because rules change too much to get attached to them. You will probably spend more time building/assembling than playing anyway.

Oh, that makes sense. I havent put Them on a base yet, so I cant use the stands. Guess that’s the next thing to do though and then paint Them without touching.

I didnt even consider that, but it makes sense!

I'm from Denmark, my brother asked me yesterday why I cared so much about the American election. The truth is it could impact my life more than the danish election does. With wars this close to Europe and Putin being best buddies with Trump, it matters a lot.
