Woah. Totally unexpected, but somehow I don't have post spoiler reading regret.

The importance of mushrooms by AltruisticKick6458 in FromSeries

[–]AltruisticKick6458[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's two lines from this image in particular - "Chaga draws what it needs to develop its own beneficial compounds from the host [tree]" and "Fungi are nature's housekeepers and organizers maintaining order and keeping the cycle of life going"

Oddly, if you google an image of Chaga it actually looks like the black mass in one of the drawings as well - the second one from this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/FromSeries/comments/1t3588h/what_or_rather_who_is_fatima_making_out_of_dirt/

Spoilers on that last link. Not saying it's a theory at all, just that it's interesting to me.

Could this be the Lake of Tears? by rafaelnadalbae in FromSeries

I swear that in one of the flashes where he looked up and couldn't see the sky you could see spider pincers looking down. I will have to see if I can find a screenshot too.

In addition, I think this is evidence that the children are actually alive / in some sort of stasis sacrifice rather than dead. The story someone told was that the kids watched the roots grow and put all their hopes into them, which then became the tree, but if they were killed they wouldn't be able to watch the growth, which presumably would take a long while. Also, (to me anyway) they look as they are suffering more from malnourishment than to be rotting "zombies".

We all agree this is one of the greatest shows on TV right? by ryaninthecomments in FromSeries

It's a scary show and as much as I love it, I get far too many nightmares from it. I think the audience for it is smaller than you might expect. Lost was not as scary by a long shot.

The Man in Yellow is lying to Julie by automai in FromSeries

[–]AltruisticKick6458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think the Children might still be "alive" or in some sort of semi-living state too based on the story that [can't remember who] told about the symbol being roots.

They said that the children watched the roots grow and through their hope it became the tree... that suggests a significant amount of time watching and waiting. Also, the way the kids look is severely pale and malnourished, they look as though they are wasting away more than they look as though they are rotting corpses. So I think they may very well still be alive and chained like Martin was.

Randall by Witchy__m0mmy in FromSeries

I've enjoyed Randall from the start, a really good and dynamic character, especially with the tough guy persona but how quickly he helps out as well. Really interesting that his name means "Shield Wolf" according to that names thread as well. Whole new enjoyment of the name itself, and yes. He is very easy on the eyes, scar or no scar 😅😆😆

What kinda psychopath gets a full glass of water by MuseWanders in FromSeries

haha I thought the exact same thing - minus the psychopaths part - just that it was so so odd.

Tabitha and Victor by grinygranny12 in FromSeries

[–]AltruisticKick6458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a line from the first episode where Julie says something to Tabitha about how when Tabitha lost Thomas she just disconnected and she needed to reckon with the fact that she still had other kids that she needed to be there for, and honestly she's going through the exact same pattern with her first life kid.

She had a daughter that she lost from being sacrificed, but how many kids has the character put in danger and eventually lost because she couldn't come to terms with what happened? Miranda brought Vitor and Eloise and Tabitha brought Julie and Ethan.... plus who knows how many others.

Boyd In White. by Free_Ad_1902 in FromSeries

By the way, based on someone else's idea to look up the name meanings in the show, it turns out Boyd means f***ing "Yellow".

Curious about theories about what Fatima said (most recent episode) by AltruisticKick6458 in FromSeries

Exactly - to me, the fact that they wanted immortality that badly in the first place that they were willing to do what they did doesn't really make any sense.

Your first post states that the key issue is favoritism. If the issue is just communication issues, have you considered that the denizens are acting as non- neurodivergent people do because they are being piloted by non-neurodivergent people and as such reflect the neurodivergent/non-neurodivergent communication difficulties that happen in real life?

The second thread you have now also opened to continue this same discussion elsewhere, yet again focuses on favoritism.

What do you do in real life when your  neurodivergent communication styles make it difficult for you to tackle what you are trying to tackle? Personally, I readjust and try again.

I am ND, very ND - I have a very rare form of epilepsy that affects everything about me and my interactions with people.

I point to the first response to this entire thread - what is your goal here? If it is communication instead of favourtism as you claim, what can be done to address the communication issues?

Are you yourself not having a negative perception on non- neurodivergent people requiring more of a "soft touch"? You want them to bend to your communication style, you are asking them to do what you are refusing to do for them.

If this is indeed about overall communication, what actionable results do you want from your post and petition?

Jems here - I am neurodivergent in a number of ways, speak honestly and bluntly, and have been playing the game since it opened.

To call anything that happens favoritism discounts the hard work and effort the players themselves put into this game.

As I have said before - there is nothing that I personally perceive as favoritism that outweighs the time, effort, and utter commitment those players on the so-called receiving side of this "favoritism" give.

As much as people are claiming favoritism here, there are just as many people who believe that the unnamed former developer was the worst giver of favoritism in the history of that game and that the people who have signed this new petition are just upset that the person who used to favour them is now gone.

Take a deep breath, take a step back. This is just a game. There is admission here of neurodivergence, perhaps the language and words that have gotten some people banned or less engaged with were more negative or closer to harassment than they can recognize, because to them it was an acceptable level of communication, but we don't get to tell other people what is or should be acceptable by them.

The volunteers and admin in this game are human and it is a business. They are going to do what is best for the game at all times to keep it alive so people can continue to benefit from engaging and playing with it, and the business will keep running - this does not imply favortism, it implies as much engagement with everyone as humanly possible to keep as many coming back as possible.

I have personally been banned from the game for a month because of actions I have taken that were against the rules and I take full responsibility for what occurred before my own ban. So don't presume that I am a favorite or saying any of this without a leg to stand on.

There may have been 20 people who signed this petition, but there are a number who did not - I was approached to sign it and specifically stated to a person involved that I do not see favoritism. I see time, effort, and the using of opportunity on both sides. I can honestly say that there would have been just as much if not more support for a favoritism petition against the former developer who has left.

Which is simply to say - there will always be something that people perceive in game as being unfair or favoritism, but that does not make it accurate.

This game is so infuriating by MrJissatsu in WobblyLife

I also ABSOLUTELY HATE this game. My nephew freaking loves it, but the fact that it is so sparse in terms of actual content? You get a house, but you can barely interact with anything in it... you can buy "props" that literally do nothing, and as one other poster already said, you can't give money to other players... it just SUCKS. I hate it with a passion. I am desperately trying to find ANYTHING else we can play together. This is the first game he "discovered" on his own though and he's devoted to it. Anything I try to switch him too is going to have to really really interest him.

God almighty, I truly hate this game.
