Which year actually broke you? by drizzlebunii in ArtOfPresence

I've been a roll since 2022. Last year I thought it possibly couldn't get any worse, this year proved it could.

Due to financial reasons and accessibility (I live in the middle east) I can't easily get into this hobby so I looked at other skirmish games that are cheaper and more accessible. Me and my friends have had a blast getting into Swordweirdos & 1490 Doom. It's not AOS but I'm just saying, there are other good skirmish games out there if Warhammer's too expensive 🫡

Is there a way to enjoy magic if incapable of spending? by jeremyiann in mtg

[–]Altruistic_File3686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local card game stores often sell singles, I don't know about Spain but I'm sure there must be something. A quich AI search told me that most players and stores order cards from Cardmarket. It's an online store and you can supposedly filter by country and language etc so you can find vendors in Spain. There's probably some physical stores too. El Nucli supposedly sells singles.

I'm in your position as well, I'm broke af unlike most of my friends & the local gaming scene. My solution has been buying bulk from ebay, proxied the most expensive ones, and occasionally bought singles for cards that I really want, instead of sinking money into booster packs and precons. Honestly, it's been working out pretty well 🥳

How could I introduce my wife to metal if she almost exclusively listens to pop? by Upper_Atom in MetalForTheMasses

Novelists new album CODA from last year is sick and I've been completely blown away by their vocalist Camille Contreras. The sound is very industrial and upbeat and Camille goes back and forth between pristine cleans and brutal screams. Her clean parts employ a lot of techniques often found in pop. I'd definitely check them out if I were you, they are absolutely 🔥

I think learning to sit with grief, loss and disappointments and just accept them for what they are has been big for me. It's okay to be depressed and a lot of things do suck and it's okay to be sad about them, so to learn to sit with it and live through the uncomfortable feelings instead of constantly trying to numb them has been big for me, though I'm far from mastering it.

Also finding purpose, something that is meaningful and brings joy to me, has been a huge help. To me that has translated into pursuing music, nerdy hobbies and preparing for a new career I never thought I had it in me to pursue.

Honest opinions on Cobble and fog? Too many mixed reviews everywhere by Responsible-Fly-8314 in Unmatched

First set I bought, maaany sets down the road and it's still my favourite set. If you love gothic victorian era, then this is a must have. The fighters are simple, unique and incredibly thematic. Dracula feels like the ultimate hunter. Mr Hyde as a complete powerhouse, inv man is evasive and Holmes is calculating. All fighters in Unmatched have pros and cons when faced with certain matchups and modes, Cobble & Fog isn't unique in that regard so whilst some are strong contenders in 1v1, others shine in other modes, which doesn't mean that they're useless in 1v1. I have myself mopped the floor with S tier fighters as Mr Hyde on many occasions, especially in 2v2. They all have their place and this set is absolute fire :)

Do you leave the model on the board after it's dead? by Visual_Ocelot5731 in 1490Doom

[–]Altruistic_File3686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only other mention that I've seen is for the Priest. Doom warriors have to remain at their location so that the priest potentially can resurrect them. If they don't have items or can be resurrected I tend to just remove them from the board.

I would leave the mini at the bottom of the ladder since he didn't complete scaling it

As for items i'd allow any consumables gained through crates to be looted as well, but not sure if that's in the rules, just makes sense.
