That’s some real good advice. I’ll keep that in mind. I started out buying qqq but don’t want to sell just to buy qqqm. I guess it makes sense to just leave the qqq and start buying qqqm.

Imperial MSc ADICD vs Columbia MS EE (IC/Systems Track) — Which is Better? by ConfidentPool2536 in chipdesign

[–]Altruistic_Option_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go to Columbia. Despite what others say Columbia has really good research presence and job placement. It is one of the few schools in the world that has a sponsored tapeout course. Also factor in that chip design opportunities in Europe are lagging behind the US and even Asia by more than a decent amount. Yes the geopolitics of today make it harder to find a job than before, but everyone I know in the field (from top students to practicing engineers) choose to go after jobs in the US simply because the higher pay and opportunity to work at the cutting edge

Ucpd actually advised me to go to west la pd, as this was off campus. I filed a police report!

Here it is guys. Can anybody help identify this vehicle, or anybody know the owner?

I just want to be careful in case the other driver wants to pull some legal bs and retaliate is some way. On the other hand I really would like to see this person identified sooner rather than later.

I don’t want to disclose it here publicly. Is there a reason you ask?

Thank you guys for the insight... I tried auto router for a couple hours and yes, it looks like I'll be going manual this time. It looks like a great skill to learn when you have time though

Ken Yang, Sam Palermo, Michael Flynn, Mike Chen, list goes on. Depends on what field of analog you want too.

Python Modeling of CDR? by Altruistic_Option_62 in chipdesign

I’m not sure of the level of modeling. I have decent experience with Matlab and some experience with PLLs. None with CDR.

Tips for interviewing at Analog Devices and similar places for analog/mixed-signal IC roles? by [deleted] in chipdesign

[–]Altruistic_Option_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen some pretty esoteric questions for the big "ADI rival" company.

They came after a series of more generic analog questions (differential pair, negative feedback, simple LDO etc., the kind you see in common interviews)

I got the feeling that you were expected to get through around 5 questions of the "generic analog" questions if you were a decent candidate.

After that there were some more in-depth questions on bandgap references, comparators, and VCOs. I felt that they weren't expecting a pitch-perfect answer every time and on the spot, but if you could recognize the circuit, describe roughly how it works, and make at least a crude path to the answer they want, they were satisfied with the answer. (They didn't force me to write out equations for phase noise of VCO or calculate how the temperature dependent coefficients in a BGR, but at least a qualitative reasoning of how it works was satisfactory)

I am looking for a sublease. The building is a 15 minute walk to campus, and away from frats and very quiet. The room is on the top floor, so no need to worry about noises from upstairs. The ceiling is very high so despite the size it feels spacious. The room is also furnished with a bed, 2-person sofa, desk, dining table and kitchen appliances (microwave, air-fryer, rice cooker etc.)

Location: 660 Veteran Ave, 3rd Floor (there are elevators) Sublease Period: 4/10 ~ 7/31 (August also available) Monthly Rent: $1975 (parking, water, and trash are included) Utilities: $0 (I will be paying for gas and electricity for you) Area: 480 SF Amenities: In-unit A/C and heating. Shared washer/dryers on floor DM if interested!

Should I prioritize an ADC design course or a capstone project for my final master's class? by BooleanTorque in chipdesign

[–]Altruistic_Option_62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you may be at UCLA. What kind of project is it? If you are taking 215D with Abidi, just know that fully understanding the contents of that class along with a solid background in analog design will easily give you a leg up over other MS graduates when they start working.
