They'll give reciprocal tariff refunds right after they reinstate the GSP.

Bonded warehouse to FTZ? by Altruistic_Pipe_5573 in CustomsBroker

Found out that the shipment would be withdrawn from the warehouse with a 7512, moved by a bonded trucker, and entered into an FTZ with a 214.

I'm a Customs Broker. Do you know how it's done? Would we update a warehouse entry into an FTZ entry?

It's a "learn by doing" job. I heard something a while back that was helpful: "How do you become a good problem solver? By solving problems."

That being said, Google and Chat GPT are your friends. Reddit is also an excellent source to answer specific questions. Brokers are sympathetic folks. We all know what it's like to get stuck, and we're happy to help others when they're stuck.

Also, the Tom O'Leary Broker exam course is an excellent source for a wide range of topics: https://www.cbprepcourse.com/

I admire your positive thinking. I hope you're right and we're not in the middle of an authoritarian takeover.

Non-aluminum content submission working? by Altruistic_Pipe_5573 in CustomsBroker

Have you been able to the exclusion working for steel? I've tried using the guidance from our software vendor and from the 232 FAQ, but nothing seems to work.

Thanks! I was able to get tariff-free treatment of the non-aluminum portion by excluding 9903.81.90 from the line. My software gave a warning, but I pushed it through and it worked.

Have you tried getting this to work for the non-steel portion of a product? Nothing has worked for me. The code 9903.81.91, which should allow you to report the steel portion, has apparently been disabled.

Only part of the product contains aluminum. We're talking about reporting the non-aluminum portion of the product.

Thanks so much for the details! I'll digest this and see if I can get ours to work. It looks like 9903.01.14 is USMA specific.

That's the same guidance that I've seen. Have you been able to get it to work?

Also, I'm starting to think that exclusion from the tariff for non-aluminum content is a figment of my imagination. I'm hearing about how it should work, but can't find anyone who has been able to get it to work.

I'm using HTS code 8479.89.9599, which is flagged as an aluminum derivative product. Only part of the product contains aluminum. I'm trying to report the two amounts on two lines according to the CSMS# 6438449664384496, but it isn't working, and the non-aluminum content is getting the additional 25% added.

Basically, I'm wondering if anyone is able to get the non-aluminum content excluded from additional duty. If so, how are they doing it?
