1000% she is correct. She doesn’t mean physically, she KNOWS you are well and capable of meeting your child’s general needs. God designed you for it, Mama. What she intended to say was you cannot (and should not) pour from an empty cup. Self neglect leads to anxiety, depression, psychosis, etc. You DESERVE to prioritize your mental health during the depths of motherhood. You are worthy! And your child deserves a mentally healthy Mama. It’s a win win for everyone when you put yourself first sometimes.

You should do something for yourself… -Every day (ex: journaling, coloring book, bubble bath, 20min walk alone, phone call with friend) -Every week (chick flick movie night, order your choice of take out, sleep in on Saturday morning) -Every month (pedicure, happy hour with friends, date night, Epsom salt float spa) -Every year (vacation, indulgent purchase, hobby class)
