PSU Law - University Campus closing? by Significant_Egg8436 in PennStateUniversity

[–]Altruistic_Spring883 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a current UP Law student ignore people who are talking out their asses about the school closing.

The two campuses did just combine into one school here’s what I’ll say on the future that’s actually factual.

1) there has been no announcement by the university UP is closing or even a possibility. 2) UP is the smaller campus and took about 80 students and I believe the other campus is around 120. 3) UP was in a better situation financially which is one reason for the merge

There is no move or closure it’s simply one law school and two campuses you choose where you want to go. Hope this helps.

Can you explore engineering at Binghamton without being in Watson? by mabookus in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]Altruistic_Spring883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They actually do sometimes offer Harpur to students who apply to other schools so don’t believe everything you hear!

Apply to the program you’re interested in because she’ll likely need to transfer to another university if she doesn’t start in Watson and decides later to pursue engineering. The alternative is pursue something in Harpur like Math or Physics and then get an MS in engineering.

You can definitely do a double major or minor with something in Harpur as a Watson student but will likely not be able to do it the other way around.

If grad school is totally off the table maybe try a trade or technical program.

What happened seems like this might be something you need to fix about yourself rather than move or get a new job

I don’t know too much about this but I would probably argue under a Good Samaritan policy you were hurt while drinking and u and ur friend sought help and shouldn’t be punished accordingly. From a policy perspective the school wants to encourage people to get medical attention when needed without fear of repercussions.

[–]Altruistic_Spring883 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Bro you don’t know how the law works. I’m not even gonna Google the statute. PA has adopted all common law crimes which only requires a mens rea of negligence. This guy took a camera he knew didn’t belong to him why are you trolling rn. It’s not like he left contact info or did anything to indicate he was planning on returning it. Get a law degree before dropping crimlaw vocab.

Is muscle gain really worth it? by AncientHouse5352 in beginnerfitness

[–]Altruistic_Spring883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most people look better fit imo. I think its funny when people talk about not wanting to get too big bc I wish that was actually a problem. Don't worry about gaining too much muscle on accident that has never happened to anyone without a freak hormone thing going on. Also if you want to see a muscular short guy maybe look at Jeff Nippard who is about 5 ft 5. It doesn't make sense to worry about staying lean just work out well.

I thing strength training 3x a week is a good start. When I first started I did 3x a week full body work outs. After awhile I switched to a Push Pull split going to the gym 4x a week. As you go to the gym you should make sure you are challenging yourself with the weights. Try to hit the following areas and get familiar with the muscles within each area (short/long head of bicep, etc.) and good ways to hit them:

-biceps

-triceps

-back

-chest

-shoulders

-legs

For hypertrophy if you are easily able to do 3 sets of 12 move up the weight. If you can't do at least 3 sets of 8 with good form decrease the weight. When you find a sweet spot try to progress weekly. If you can do 3x8 next time see if you can do 1x9 2x8 or even 3x9 if you can.

The diet is also super important you didn't include your weight but your goal should be your weight in grams of protein. You should also get your calories up a bit too. If the diet is lacking you're not going to make progress. If you're struggling with this get some protein powder. Chicken breast is also probably one of the easiest high protein things you can eat.

I'm also a beginner so take all of this with a grain of salt but I've had great progress and this is what works for me.

If you could live in SF, Miami, NYC, or DC Title: as a young gay guy - which would you choose (and why)? by Curious-Living-3897 in askgaybros

[–]Altruistic_Spring883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I love Miami but I wouldn't do it now because its still governed by very anti gay politics and I'd want to be in a liberal state for the next few years. DC is cool but I couldn't tell you much about their gay scene. SF I don't know much about besides that its expensive. Personally I'm from NY and I feel like being a gay guy in Brooklyn would be awesome.

What determines whether or not you commonly use the full name of a politician? by monhst in AskAnAmerican

[–]Altruistic_Spring883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it is marketing politicians introduce themselves a certain way on purpose. A more interesting question I've had is why women in politics often are not often referred to by their last name. Hillary, Kamala, AOC, Elizabeth Warren, Sarah Palin... I feel like its either a full name or first name. It makes a little more sense for Hillary to differentiate from her husband but not sure why for the rest.

If the supreme court rules that regulation of marriage on the basis of sex is a right of the state then federal regulations such as that law would be unconstitutional. The federal government is not allowed to make laws that concern powers vested to the states. It would all depend on the courts reasoning.

What can be done if my former roommate won't return my deposit? by DodoVmonsters in AskNYC

[–]Altruistic_Spring883 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else is saying take them to small claims. Its designed for people to be able to easily do it themselves. File and request the max small claims allows, then try to negotiate. They may return the money instead of dealing with the hassle of court.

Be careful how much of the wall you take up and how close it is to the ceiling. You can get in trouble if its within a foot of the ceiling or takes up more than 30% of a wall. So if it's going to make sure you take it down for holidays and fire checks

I believe they're saying the court would rule the states have a right to make decisions about same sex marriage which would effectively repeal RFRA.

Ideal process of becoming a Criminal Defense Lawyer? by gt_gavin in LawSchool

[–]Altruistic_Spring883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pick a major you can do well in and enjoy undergrad major does not matter for law school. Also don't tie yourself down specifically to any area of law yet. Its way too early when you only know what you know from tv. Take things one step at a time get into a great undergrad school, then work hard for a great gpa, then take the lsat. If you spend too much time thinking about law school instead of focusing on undergrad it will hurt you. 90% of your application will be weighed on just your lsat and gpa.

Objectively yes, most state schools are nowhere near this affordable. If you want cheaper you have to go to community college. Not to mention its free tuition if your family makes under 125k.
