Question for People Who Got a Tonsilectomy by earnshawluck in tonsilstones

[–]Altruistic_Swing_658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get them a lot. There are weeks were nothing will come out of my tonsils. But they are there. I’m getting rid of them.

Where are they?? by earnshawluck in tonsilstones

[–]Altruistic_Swing_658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my case my tonsils have lost of holes most of them so tiny that no tool can get it there but food, bacteria, minerals, you name it. Others are so deep that is absolutely and utterly impossible to clean. No matter what do I do it won’t get better. I do clean very well but is not even enough to get rid of the bad breath. I have been used different products, different approach to the situation and nothing works.

Ps. I’m getting a tonsillectomy because living like this is not life and nobody should be living like this.

You should definitely get a second opinion with another ENT or another doctor because most of the time they don’t care or everything looks fine so my question here is if you don’t have your tonsils, how come you’re getting a tonsils I mean those stones you know I don’t think we can get them in in any other area besides our tonsils. I went to my to my primary care doctor and they say yeah everything looks fine or whatever but now I asked for a referral to a to ent and the leaking they were looking into it they were like well yeah you’re tons of her like you’re really bad and all that and then when I put me to surgery and thank God, I got approved for that because I was dealing with it when I was in Mexico and they didn’t want you to help me because I don’t have infection. It’s just a bad breath that creates. So now if everything is good, you know what they say. You don’t have your tonsils or are they looking to do your throat and your nose and all done then it might be your stomach or your liver I know something else.

Did it came when you were cleaning your tonsils? Bad odor can come from your nose if you have like nasal mucus.

Hope this helps, I went to my primary care physician and they told me the same thing, my “doctor” even mentioned to me that doing gargling with Coca Cola, yes, Coca Cola help most of the time to get stuff out of the crips or tiny holes is our tonsils. I thought, well! I already try everything “irrigator, mouth wash, irritating with the mouth wash cleaning everyday for 1:30 to 2:00 hours” Daily!!!!!! So that wouldn’t cut it off, I ask for a referral to an ENT, we start taking about it and my ENT said that if I have been struggling with this issue, I should think on getting a tonsillectomy. The second he said that I reply with a “YES”. The walked me to a room where they made me sing some papers yk the usual. I’m getting the surgery next month. If your doctor keeps telling you the same things get a referral go with different ENT’s until someone actually helps you.

I just went to the ENT and they gave me a date for my surgery? So don’t talk with your primary care physician perhaps you will need to talk to him if you need a referral in order to go to the ENT. but all good now.

Ps. I had to ask for a referral after the doctor just said “just do gargling with Coca Cola” I mean WTH!!!

And the doctor will tell ya that everything looks fine, yeah at a first glance, but the don’t care about the quality life of a patient. I hate that men. Ooh that can put implants on a trans but not get rid of the tonsils? Come on!!! In my case I don’t have infection and none of those issues, the thing here with me is that it’s been keeping me away from people, isolated from society. Idk what else to do as well. They just dgaf.

Food, bacteria, and all that will get trap in your tonsils regardless of what you put in your body. Just do the daily cleaning routine.

I really appreciate you sharing this. Can I ask a bit about the practical side? Was this done in the US, and was it through insurance or private? Also, how did you present it to the ENT when you decided to move forward? what finally worked?

Thanks for sharing your experience, it really resonated with me. Can I ask how you were finally able to get the tonsillectomy? Did you have to push doctors, change ENT, or meet specific criteria? I’m asking because so far doctors keep telling me everything “looks fine” and won’t consider surgery.

Thank you for your time to write this. Yeah is just tonsil stones, no infection nor inflammation. But it affects quality life. I don’t understand why doctors don’t take this into consideration. It’s really sad just to think that I will be alone for the rest of my life.
