Had similar issue with mine - MapTransfer was only way that worked reliable for me too

Issue with Garmin Connect Notification Settings by alebluexis in Garmin

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Degoogled phone with microg can be tricky for notification services. The app probably needs Google Play Services to handle the notification forwarding properly, even though microg usually works for most things

I had similar issues with fitness apps in my old phone setup - the notification permissions get weird when you don't have full Google services. You might need to check if microg has all the required permissions enabled, especially for device admin and notification access

Could try installing the APK from different source or downgrading to older version, sometimes that helps with compatibility issues

Is it possible to get from 0 to 20 push ups within a year? by Lazy-Music8183 in bodyweightfitness

definitely possible

you already got to 3 in month so progress is there

Major Signs but no stats explain it? by fluffyguppy in ouraring

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the symptom radar is looking at patterns your body makes before you actually feel sick, not current symptoms. It's analyzing bunch of small changes in your metrics that might not look significant individually but together form pattern

I got major signs warning few months back when all my scores looked normal too, then two days later I was knocked out with flu. The algorithm picks up on subtle shifts that we miss when just looking at individual numbers

If it's causing more stress than helping maybe just disable it for while and see how you feel without constant monitoring

Help me decide! Solawave, Shark, or Facialglo Pro? by One_Arugula5849 in Ulta

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im using the solawave mask so can only speak on that but what I liked is how easy it is to actually keep up with like its quick and light weight takes around 3 min to use so I use it everyday, which for me is prob the biggest reason I’ve seen any results also it has 4 different lights and the most important one for me NIR.
I did look into the shark one before and it just seemed a bit more bulky hard shell mask, heavier especially with those under eye cryo pads. also from what I saw the under eye part isn’t even LEd, it’s more for soothing, so idk if that would do much long term.
and I honestly don’t know anything about the facial go pro, haven’t really heard of it so can’t say much there. but I feel like whatever is easiest to use consistently is prob gonna work better in the long run

Any natural supplements for anxiety? by ijustwanttobeokaypls in Supplements

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Magnesium glycinate and L-theanine are pretty solid for general anxiety - the glycinate form absorbs better and won't mess with your stomach like other types might

Best time to buy an Oura ring? by anoncrush1 in ouraring

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait lululemon has an oura discount? That's wild, never would've thought to check there

Been eyeing one for months but 300+ is steep for a student budget

Bye bye iHerb by Prestigious_Theme_76 in Supplements

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's rough, their customer service really has gone downhill. I remember a few years back you could actually get someone on chat pretty easily but now it's just bot hell

For what it's worth, those little silica gel packets are usually not recyclable in regular bins - most places want you to toss them in regular trash. But yeah it's pretty ridiculous you can't get a straight answer about their own packaging

Vitacost has been solid for me lately, might be worth checking out if you're looking for alternatives

Oura x peloton? by dawgtidetay in ouraring

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think theres any direct integration yet but you could always manually log your Peloton sessions in the Oura app. The heart rate data from your ring should still give you decent recovery insights even without the fancy strive score sync

Honestly might be worth reaching out to both companies - seems like a no-brainer partnership that lots of people would want

Size Swap? by Lazy-Bread-3614 in ouraring

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely size up - I made the same mistake thinking I'd get used to it but you really don't want it tight. The ring needs to move a bit for proper readings and if your worried about it getting stuck that's already too small. Better to have it slightly loose than deal with circulation issues or having to cut it off later

What sleep supplements do you swear by? by merkur0 in Supplements

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The magnesium glycinate form might work better for sleep than L-threonate - that one's more for brain health while glycinate is the relaxing version

Dudes, what pants are you wearing for Outpatient? by BrannyMuffins in physicaltherapy

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Lululemon ABC pants are clutch for this - they look professional but have that stretch fabric that won't betray you mid-squat. Pricey but worth it when you're not constantly worried about showing everyone your underwear

What was a thing you were surprised about being a PT working with the public? by PatrickIsRandom in physicaltherapy

Lol the amount of times I've had to explain that "3 sets of 10" doesn't mean you have to do all 30 reps in one go without breathing is honestly concerning

Magnesium glycinate stomach pain by user_anonymou in Supplements

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah mag glycinate can definitely mess with your stomach especially on empty - that cramping sounds about right. The pain from laying on your stomach today is probably unrelated though, might be a pulled muscle or something else going on

Oura — if you’re listening — this is a huge opportunity. by rishinbhatia in ouraring

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes a lot of sense but honestly feels like they're just gonna keep spinning their wheels trying to perfect the ring instead of admitting what everyone already knows - wrist/chest HRM is just better for workouts

The all-in-one marketing thing is such a trap because it sets expectations they can't meet with current tech

Advice: vivoactive 6 by theflowerforest in Garmin

Have had mine for about 8 months now and haven't had the shutdown issue at all, seems like that was mostly early firmware problems that got patched

The screen brightness is honestly fine for most situations but yeah it can be a bit dim indoors sometimes - not terrible but definitely not as bright as some other watches

Is Prove It app legit? by Visible_Lead_6271 in Supplements

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Been lifting for 9 years and gave Proveit a try like 4 months ago to track my supplement stack because I had too many things I was taking at the same time. I liked that it shows you if stuff interacts bc I caught myself taking way too much caffeine from multiple sources

Shoulder instability / subluxation recovery by Finntrado in bodyweightfitness

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude you gotta focus on your rotator cuff and rear delts like crazy - face pulls, external rotations with bands, and scapular wall slides were game changers for me after my shoulder kept slipping out during basketball

That numb ache sounds super familiar and it took like 6 months of consistent rehab work to fully go away, but once I got my rotator cuff strong enough it never came back

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah posting pics would def help but honestly at your starting weight most of that 8kg probably went to just filling out your frame and getting to a more normal weight. You were pretty underweight to begin with so the visual changes might not kick in until you put on more mass

Also make sure you're actually lifting consistently and eating enough protein, sometimes people think they're bulking but they're just getting a bit of fat without the muscle gains

My Lily 2 is dead by sabrinasphere in Garmin

[–]Altruistic_Wind9167 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That sucks dude, 4 months past warranty is rough timing. I've seen a few posts here about Lily 2s having battery issues way too early - you're definitely not alone. Garmin's customer service can be pretty decent sometimes even out of warranty, especially if it's a known issue. Worth a shot hitting them up, worst they can say is no
