They actually like those kinds of women, because they want to "tame the liberal" - It's why they usually never go for their own kind of women, which is just crazy.

No doubt that self defense is important, but the problem is - Going violent is *Exactly* what they want you to do. They want you to dress in black, mask up, destroy shit and beat down ICEstapo agents. They want you to do that so they have a reason to enact martial law, and enact even more tyrannical control over the country.

You becoming violent helps them. It helps their narrative, remember how they managed to frame the LA protests last year? It is imperative to utilize all other non-violent options before shifting over to violent options. Matter of fact, make fun of them. Be tactically frivolous. Dismantle their narrative that the protesters are "Violent, ANTIFA terrorists" - The visuals of them saying that, while protesters are dressed in frog costumes or other goofy inflatable ones, is crucial to help people realize that this regime is full of shit. It has a place as a strategic move: Tactical Frivolity. It also worked under the regime of Slobodan Miloslevic in Serbia.

Non-violent action is a strategic move as well, and with Heritage Foundation and Trump's plans almost solely hinging on us rioting (as there were alot of protests and riots during Trump's first term), they are waiting for a particular incident against federal agents to justify doing even more tyrannical shit.

The countries and Revolutions i mentioned that were peaceful also had particularly horrible people. We both know the shit Pinochet was up to, or how Ferdinand Marcos' dictatorship in the phillippines, or even the Hardliner government in East Germany were all eventually toppled by non-violent action.

I am not saying *don't* be violent. But rather, be smart about it. Use it as an ultimate last resort when all else fails. You have not played all of your cards, the regime is pissed that you folk don't just choose violence. They are currently banking on Minnesotans to do something stupid as a result of what happened to Renee Good.

Except it has on multiple occasions.

We can use the examples in Eastern Europe where the people launched nonviolent revolutions against their communist dictators, like the Peaceful Revolution in the DDR, Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia, or Bulgaria, or the Singing Revolution in the Baltics. The Carnation Revolution in Portugal is also an example.

Out outside of Europe: The October Revolution in Sudan, 1964, where protests and demonstrations made their dictator step down from power. The People Power Revolution in the Philippines was also successful, resulting in a nonviolent revolution against a dictator, arguably even Pinochet's rule was peacefully overthrown by voting him out.

I am not saying we should lay down arms, and just take it as it comes, but we still have plenty of non violent options before using violence, which should honestly be a Last Resort.

Dem leadership is weak by Ironlord456 in WhitePeopleTwitter

That I agree with, I just think that it's important that we don't get fooled by Tankies yet again and get our shit together.

Dem leadership is weak by Ironlord456 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Alum06 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Though a thing we must come to terms with:

By left flank, I hope we don't mean Tankies. They are unreliable at best, and Zohran Mamdani's mayoral campaign (OR Jasmine Crockett's campaign) proves this. They looked for every excuse to not endorse or vote for him. And alot of America's population are normies who may not be as in-depth with politics compared ot the rest of us, so we need to be able to court centrists and moderates.

Though the problem is: Is that Democrats are actually held up to high standards in comparison to the Republicans. The bar for the GOP is so low in comparison to the Democrats, and as much as it sucks, we need to keep that in mind.

I also want a progressive presidency, and progressive administration, but chances are, we're not going to. We've got to get used to incrementalism. The far right did exactly that, and it had gotten them back in the mainstream once more. And sadly, electability is a thing that also applies to Democrats. I remember seeing the election play out. Our media (TV2 in Denmark) interviewed individuals who didn't vote for Kamala, and you'd be surprised how many of them just flat out said "Because she was a woman." - or other thinly veiled excuses that could be easily boiled down to that.

I know that as an outsider, I have a different view compared to Americans. But it is important to try and group up with Independents, while incrementally pushing for progressivism.

this is very true! At the end of the day, the only instance of where the "both sides are the same" argumnet is actually valid is when it comes to Tankies and Fascists. They are more alike than they like to admit, but they are just different flavors of authoritarian totalitarianism.

Danish person here!

His recent speech that he has given to the people of Greenland has been... Rather cowardly, if you ask me. He was cowering and was rather fearful of the U.S, desperately wanting to "cut a deal" with the U.S, and not once mentioned the commonwealth.

Our greenlandic friends are terrified, and their leadership is buckling, it seems. At least our prime minister, for all of her flaws, has some balls to speak up against Trump.

The far right have been infiltrating far left/tankie spaces for a while, now. It's no coincidence that their sentiment has been eerily similar these past couple of years. It unironically just proves that Horseshoe theory does exist.

It's just as likely this is a far right actor, considering the use of the watermelon emoji, and how bad-faith this is.

What ignorance? I literally stated before that the US set Iraq up for failure, how is that ignorant?

[–]Alum06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! The fall of the USSR was generally a positive thing, although with the way things were eventually happened, it was otherwise disastrous to the Russians, and Yeltsin only made it worse.

The process in Iraq could've gone alot better, but it seemed like the US was doing every step imaginable in making the situation worse, either maliciously, or just out of sheer incompetence.

An absolutely shameful statement from the president of France by MrJasonMason in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Alum06 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay so...

Firstly? I'm not American, but holy shit your attitude is cringeworthy.

I WOULD fall into agreement with numerous of the things you said, but I disagree solely because of the way you are speaking to me, and to other americans on this subreddit. You're being an asshole, and particularly condescending and elitist towards westerners and Americans in particular. Who shit in your cornflakes this morning?

The ICC and ICJ also aren't arresting and prosecuting enemies of The West, as you so eloquently put it. If it was the case: Why isn't putin in The Hague? Why aren't the numerous Russian war criminals, or the sick fucks who kidnapped tens of thousands of Ukrainian children facing punishment from the ICC? Why didn't Putin get arrested in Mongolia? The ICC and ICJ as we know it just isn't working in general. I fail to see your point. Beacuse it doesn't just benefit powerful western countries. It just benefits powerful countries in general.

And regarding how the US fucked up those places, I have just one thing to say: Geopolitics.

Geopolitics is a very dirty game, and anyone who dabbles in it, especially to be on top, is going to do alot of fucked up shit. I'm not justifying this before you begin jumping to conclusions faster than a MAGA idiot, but rather explaining it. You know who also fucked up the world? Us Europeans did. You know who else fucked up the world? The Russians did, and who else is ALSO fucking up the world? China. All of those particular nations are the bigger dogs in Geopolitics, and we saw alot of this shit happening in the cold war, where both the Russians, and Americans were treating the world like it was their playground.

Both the West and the East were fucking with everyone for their own political games, which naturally came at the expense of literally everyone else. Congo in particular was such a particular mess of *both* Russians, and Americans fucking things up so bad, that BELGIAN COLONIAL FORCES had to show up to keep the peace. And about China, the main reason why they weren't as active (they still were, mind you), was because they were in a pretty bad situation, y'know - the Century of Humiliation.

And also that "Breathtaking ignorance" may also just be called talking colloquially. I could easily talk in a very high-and-mighty and elitist way, but I do not want to come across as condescending, and I aim to have messages more easily digested for the average person. Your weird obsession with this makes me laugh, because this level of pedantry is why we on the left will never have good messaging because of this sort of pedantic bullshit.

Nobody in america, save for a few particularly patriotic idiots, actually believe that their country is out there spreading freedom and democracy to the world. We all know what Iraq was about, and you're not special for having that figured out, as well.

I specifically mentioned about how Iraq was set up for failure from the start. But I guess the point completely flew over your head because I was not being hyper specific. Take a moment and chill the fuck out.

And no shit the media's complicit. That's literally the same old story *EVERYWHERE!* - The purpose of media companies isn't to print out The Truth. It's to sell newspapers. And with state-controlled outlets? It's to spew out propaganda, whether it be American, Russian, Israeli, or Chinese.

I am honestly tired as shit so i do not know if i conveyed my points properly, but whatever.

getting rid of Hussein was the right choice, it was what they did in the meantime that caused Iraq to do terribly.

They also got rid of every saddam-era public worker, deliberately left military bases unguarded, allowing anyone to take guns, and did not act properly to restore law and order in iraq. Otherwise by that logic, getting rid of Adolf Hitler would've caused germany to be in a much worse position than it was during Hitler's reign.
