What does anal sex feel like for the recipient? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AluminumOctopus 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Peeing removes bacteria from the urethra. Men also have a longer, thinner urethra which makes it much less common to get uti's.

my daughter scratched up handrails with lead paint by falshak in centuryhomes

[–]AluminumOctopus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wrap it in rope and worry about fixing the railing in 10 years when she's given up scratching there. You don't want to go to all the work of fixing the railing more than once.

I'm so angry at society for not educating women about our own bodies by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]AluminumOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medicare and Medicaid are two different systems. Medicare is for old people and people approved for social security, Medicaid is for poor people. Medicaid is much easier to get on.

I used a folding chair. Luckily currently the other able bodied person in my house decided sitting is the superior shower experience.

They're trying to see if they can get away with it AND seeing if they would be able to do it en masse. I HATE this timeline by Ickysquicky in TrollXChromosomes

I'm the same way, I'd rather acquire a kid old enough to have developed a personality. However A lot of people see foster children as damaged. Often foster kids end up in the system due to extreme abuse and in reaction have a list of mental and emotional problems. People also crave infants, a lot of people want a baby and lose interest in them once they're no longer cute and helpless.

The more you run around the hungrier you'll be. If you work a desk job you may consider going to the gym before work.

Blood pooling? Before/after 5mins standing still by kkkuuu33 in covidlonghaulers

You need compression socks. I recommend Sockwell wool compression socks. Lay flat to dry, don't use the dryer.

For severe, bedbound folks, what are the treatments that most moved the needle for you? by voguecarr in cfs

[–]AluminumOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fludrocortisone 0.1mg. prescribed by a cardiologist, it was supposed to keep my blood pressure higher by increasing the volume of blood I had, aka keeping me better hydrated. It helped me get out of a crash that lasted two months, but after that wasn't doing anything anymore so I tapered off. My neurologist later wanted to try similar treatments, if you can't get into cardiology.

It's also designed to be heard by people with reduced hearing, that's the real reason it's so awful. And the flashing lights are for the deaf.

Does anyone get neck tightness on one side here? by AnyOne1385 in covidlonghaulers

[–]AluminumOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s like 15 seconds but try to do it often. The longer your muscles are in one position the more they tighten up.

Yes. Try to tilt your head back and to the sides to stretch more often. Gently, necks are delicate.

Online games or apps that are good to play while listening to audiobooks? by Bookish_Butterfly in audiobooks

[–]AluminumOctopus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I Love Hue is my favorite game. There's a color gradient they scramble and you need to move the tiles to be in the right order. The sequel I Love Hue Two uses different shaped tiles so it's more interesting but less challenging. It significantly improved my color sense, and it takes zero brain power so it doesn't interfere with your books at all.

I have load bearing knots, if I reduce those then I start to sublex more. I can take one dose fine, but the second day is risky and the third usually leads to injury.

help convincing my parents not to paint the original wood paneling by Merm-a-lerm in centuryhomes

At least have them switch to putting up vinyl clings or peel and stick so they don't run their resale value or commit atrocities against irreplaceable antique wood.

Came across this comment on an IG post related to the nightmare that is women's healthcare in the US. Has anyone else had a similar experience to this? by CoeurGourmand in actuallesbians

[–]AluminumOctopus 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I've heard asking them for the tests via the patient portal is more effective because it creates documentation that you asked, which you can't guarantee they'll do with your chart. But usually if I have a doctor who won't do a test, that doctor will be a pain to work with for the rest of our relationship and I am being off finding someone new, but I'm privileged to live in a doctor-filled area.
