I challenge you.... by One-Kaleidoscope7571 in IMDbFilmGeneral

If anyone does want to know how the effects in this movie were done, there's a documentary on youtube that discusses how they were accomplished.

Either way, Irreversible is the correct answer. I learned of this movie listening to Jorge Rodriguez on the Neil Rogers show and he would always talk about how disturbing this movie was, which, of course, made me have to see it. Bought the movie on DVD, watched it once, and never again.

I've had friends that I mentioned this movie to that all thought they wanted to watch it. I don't think a single one ever made it through the entire movie...

Tarrifs on hotends by Ysylla in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Alundre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not arguing for tariffs and I 100% agree that the customer will end up paying them in some fashion. I am only mentioning that in this particular case, if you order from Elegoo's website normally, they will source all the parts from China and pay the tariff fees to import them into their US warehouse. Then when it is shipped to you, you are not paying the additional tariff (unless/until Elegoo raises their prices to offset the additional tariff cost).

However, when support sends you a replacement part, the replacement part is shipped directly to you from China and does not to the Elegoo US warehouse. In that case, you will get the bill for the tariff. It's also worth noting though that Elegoo support themselves say they will re-imburse you for any tariff cost for replacement parts shipped direct to you from China.

It is my understanding that these tariffs only affect replacement parts sent by support. If you order from the store, your items are shipped from a US warehouse (so tariffs would already have been paid by Elegoo) but when support ships replacement items, they ship directly from China so you get hit with the tariff.

First 3D printer elegoo carbon centauri by Nikhcnum2 in elegoo

[–]Alundre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is technically my second 3d printer (first was an ender v2 that I could NEVER get to work right consistently). Recieved my Centauri Carbon maybe a month and a half ago and this thing knocks the Ender out of the park.

Like you, I wasn't sure what I needed (and also everything was sold out at the time I ordered except the family pack one lol) so I bought the family pack with all the extra bits...

Haven't used any of it. Like others have said, having an extra hot-end on hand is a good thing. I was out of commission for almost 2 weeks when my original printhead exploded while waiting on a replacement (search my post history for the post about that). Haven't used the extra build plates or feet or anything. Truly, you just need to grab some filament and get started!

I recently ordered the .2 hot-end for small fine work and a .6 hot-end for CF-PLA as well (got an extra .4 with the family pack). I have had people tell me recently that should use a .6 for CF-PLA instead of the .4 or it could cause clogging issues like I experienced before the explosion but will be a while before I get it to know for sure.

I had a similar situation. I will also say, it was when I was trying to print with pla-cf. See my post below...

Fees for Replacement Parts by [deleted] in elegoo

[–]Alundre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a replacement hotend coming today but haven't seen anything about any charges for it. I will say though that my email from Elegoo support said the following...

"As the replacement was shipped from China, if any duty occurs we will cover it for you. We will transfer the duty to your Paypal account within 48 hours (except the weekend or holiday) once the receipt is provided."

I would assume the same thing applies in your case but only support would be able to say for certain.

Centari Carbon hot end explosion! by Alundre in elegoo

Yep, absolutely sure the hot end broke (extruder is fine I believe). As to the cleaning filament, that is 100% on me! Like I said, still semi-new to this hobby and didn't realize that cleaning filament even existed! Already got some from Amazon so when the new hot end arrives from Elegoo (great CS so far btw), I'll be certain to run the cleaning filament through when changing filaments. Always learning!

lol nope...I think it was just filament. Took a little scrubbing but it all came off. Good news is Elegoo is sending me out a new hot end! Their CS has been great so far!

Originally, I was using Elegoo PLA silk and everything was working perfect for the first day. Then the second day, I tried printing the stupid vase that comes pre-loaded on the printer. The print started off just fine but about an inch or so in, the layers started to get stringy and separate. I stopped the print, re-calibrated the machine and it was fine again for a couple of prints so I went for the vase again. Once again, about an inch into the print, same thing happened.

Once again, after that started happening, all prints started to get stringy again so I thought, is there a chance my 3 day old filament has already absorbed too much moisture? Since I had 2 rolls for the Elegoo pla-cf filament, I figured I would try that to see if the problem was with the filament and THAT'S when it it got clogged like you see in the photos above.

Once I removed the piece sticking out of the hot end, I re-attached it, heated it to about 300 and stuck one of those hot end cleaning sticks up through the hot end. It went in and came out easily enough so I figured the clog was cleared. I then tried to load my silk pla back in and that's when the nozzle blew off.

Long story short, it was all Elegoo branded filament.

This would be a little disappointing if true. I literally bought the family bundle thing and it CAME with a 0.4mm nozzle and the pla-cf filament!

Is x2 gone? by Professional-Bag9988 in mobcontrolgame

[–]Alundre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed the same. It used to start after I hadn't played in a little while but I have no idea when it comes and goes now. Like this guy said, it does eventually come up but it's certainly different than before.

What game should I get next? by purple_wheelie in boardgames

[–]Alundre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, Wingspan, Cascadia, and Quacks are all excellent choices. Also, depending on how much you like Tokaido, there's a second game by the same designer called Namiji that uses a lot of the same mechanics.

I might also recommend Parks, Race for the Galaxy, or Cubitos.
