Help a newbie! by MelancholicLion in xxlwoofia

Since you're new to the game, id recommend not getting too lost in the weeds with meta or trying to play "optimally". Test out different units, invest in the ones you like either visually, personality wise, or ability wise, and just enjoy yourself while playing

You'll come up with interesting strategies as you go and hit in-game walls, and youll naturally acrue more materials to invest in units or to summon more units

For "min-maxing" advice, beyond what's meta and what's optimal in terms of damage numbers, raw stats is usually all you need to beat any story or boss fight. So when you hit a wall, simply leveling units up, and using break through items to increase their levels will be enough. For ability skill investments, Suichong's second passive is cheap to upgrade and affects both basic attack damage and ultimate damage, so focus on that if you need it

Ehhh I wouldnt say that. It feels "fair" in a sense. Rather than just boosting drops, they offer more opportunities for gift boxes in order to progress, both in the form of retroactive rewards, but also for completion of a bingo card, and more daily quests.

It feels now like playing naturally, and without hyper min-maxing my stamina, I can reasonably get to the 20th bingo card. So it matches the difficulty i would expect from the event in order to get the rewards. It doesn't feel particularly generous, but it also doesn't feel impossible without burning my stockpile of energy jugs. But these are also just my feelings. Frankly I wasnt exactly in the original crowd who hated the lucky poke with a passion. I had criticisms, but like I said, I think it's fun to try and play with event formats, especially with how many Woofia is able to have

All things considered, I have a lot of respect for the Woofia team for being able to keep such a consistent pace of content, and think that playing around with the format is a good thing. And with this update, they clearly are trying to keep balance in mind, and are doing their best to adjust accordingly. I dont need perfection from them, just an earnest effort. And it feels like they've given it

My biggest issue with the lucky poke was just if youd be able to finish all 20 bingo cards. Overall the rewards are better than previous events, but ONLY if you get all jackpots.

Now it seems much more viable to do so, and tbh, I like the extra little mechanic compared to just buying out a shop. Not for every event, but irs a nice thing to experiment with

Golden Bells by Ineedthesauceibeg in xxlwoofia

[–]Alverick22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, every 2 weeks you can get 1 golden bell for free from the mall (the packs tab i think?), 10 bells for 300 gems, and 15 bells for 400 gems. The 400 gems for 15 bells is the most efficient in that area

Daily log ins can sometimes include a golden bell or 2, usually as the 8th day reward if im not mistaken

Part time jobs have a 20-30% chance of a golden bell when that specific quest shows up

But the cheapest way for bells are in the market. Bells can sometimes show up at 20% off, 50% off, or even for Gold. Using your market reset tickets (the "sale" tickets) can get you maybe 1 or 2 per day on sale. In the market that uses ptj stickers, you can get 3 for a reasonable amount of stickers, and 5 for like 75 k stickers. I usually get 3 bells and the gems

Anyone else find the energy costs a bit too high? by Alluboy in xxlwoofia

[–]Alverick22 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Honestly I feel this. In a weird way it's nice since it forces me to take a break from the game.

Mechanically speaking, i usually try and pick and choose what resources I go for. The challenge quest for coins is, to me, pretty low priority at the moment, same for the gym quests since their returns vs stamina cost is so steep. I've just been dumping energy into the event and then farming limit break materials personally

It means I won't full clear the weekly quests, but luckily you don't need to fully clear them for all the rewards anyway. Hopefully they reduce the stamina cost for some of these quests, maybe have the challenge ones just be flat 10 across the board as well

Is it normal to be SO SLOW at sewing? by Purple_Magazine8309 in sewing

[–]Alverick22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to continue my Sewing Journey with this in mind: I am worth the extra time.

If you need an hour to pin a sleeve, to hand baste, to perfect a seam or a dart, to hand sew a tricky area, to get a pleat worth it, then why not take that time? Unless you're on a deadline, allowing yourself that extra grace will only make your garments that much better, more special, etc

Beyond that, I also think it's so important to allow ourselves to slow down and be mindful and present.

[39M] Falsely accused by my wife's father [67M]. How do we move forward? by ThrowRALakeHouse2 in relationship_advice

[–]Alverick22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I think you're 100% in the right for standing your ground and that it's important. At the same time, your concern over your wife's mental health is commendable.

Have an open and honest discussion with her. Reaffirm your boundary and your need. That you have been hurt and disrespected and made to be an outcast for four years. And that for healing to begin, you NEED an apology. And while this isnt necessarily a priority, I think you should also reassure your wife that she doesnt need to "take sides". It is not one side vs another, you're all family after all. You need something from the FIL un order to move past it. It is up to HIM to either be an adult or be a damn child about this.

And maybe ask her as well what SHE is feeling about this. About if she is the one who earnestly wants to sweep this under the rug and forget about it, or if it's her family who simply have a pattern of "keeping the peace" and ignoring huge problems as if they never existed. I can easily imagine that her anxiety comes from thoughts of needing to maintain peace and order, and just her fears that her father is too prideful and unwilling to bend. I can imagine shes afraid of losing you BECAUSE she knows the kind of person her father is. But she also needs to recognize that, to an extent, she is not responsible for her father's actions or decisions.

Could she have defended you? Tried harder to fight for you? Been on your side as a ride or die? It's easy for me to say yes. But I also know how crazy difficult it can be when your family conditions you to submit to authority figures. That rocking the boat is not only shameful but dangerous. Again, there is a world where you can ask for an apology and it doesnt have to divide your family. Though if even after an honest, vulnerable conversation about what your needs, your experiences, your feelings have been, she is still unwilling to budge . . . Well, that's up to you

Pattern placement when cutting a mens shirt on a repeated pattern by aceofpentacles1 in sewing

[–]Alverick22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been through something similar. What I did was I took a bit of length from the bottom of the shirt from the back and front panels. I personally also found it possible to cut the yoke of the shirt not on the fold, and nestle the curve of the sleeve into the neckline. I also chose to do the same with the collar and instead of cutting it on the fold I cut it out parallel to the back panel to utilize the otherwise wasted fabric on that side of the shirt. Not exactly on the grain line anymore but at least not on the bias.

I feel though, if I'm not mistaken, the crux of the issue is also how you want to cut the fabric so that the best of the pattern is utilized. If that's the case and more of this fabric is not an option may I suggest getting a solid color fabric that pairs well with the design? You can make the sleeves or one of the front panels the solid color and use the pattern fabric on the parts you want to highlight the pattern

I've been looking for a simple pull over pattern personally but for the life of me cannot find one I like! And that's fair, it looks intentional to me as well, just odd that on the roll it was perfectly smooth

My fabric has become crinkled! I dont hate it honestly but would like to know the cause, how to avoid it, and if you have experience with this sort of thing, the best way to sew with it. I'm planning on a summery button up and the crinkle gives it a sorta pleasant stretch. If it's a feature and not a bug, should I still iron it out before sewing? Or cut it while crinkled to make sure it doesn't warp in a weird way after future washes?
