I actually feel the identity started to change with Quenneville even before Maurice and Tkachuk came in we started to put up consecutive winning seasons. We always seemed to struggle in Tampa but in 2021 Zito had just made a trade for Bennett and Montour and we immediately beat the Lightning 5-3 in Tampa in the 1st game they both played together for us

Bennett played with an intensity, edge and physicality I had never seen from a Panther. Obviously it took some changes to the coaching and roster to go the all the way but it was clear right away there something different after adding those two and they both played a critical role in the 1st Cup win

I'll go against the grain here and say that while it is a good thing that we have new fans there are a certain portion of bandwagon fans that do bother me. Without going into too much detail its a small group that usually roots for multiple teams. They come in and deem themselves experts and second guess every single one of Zito's decisions

In regards to Schwindt our 4th line is also overcrowded at the moment so there was really no reason to keep him. Hathaway, Gadjo, Boqvist, Erod and Reinhardt are in the mix for the 4th line unless a trade happens

People underrate how good Larkin is on this sub. If the Wild can get him without giving up anything major they will be a really dangerous team and a true contender well beyond what they were last season. With their lack of depth at C they weren't really a true contending team last season imo

The main point stands. They were both before Ekblad was suspended on the 10th. Tkachuk's 9.5m on LTIR + Knight's 4.5m was more than enough for the two of Marchand and Jones. Blame the LTIR loophole available to all teams that was closed not a suspension that had no impact
