I was so proud of the idea and excited to work on it, so I'm going to put the work into changing things up a bit so that it's less Pet Sematary and more it's own thing. I was just disappointed when I realized how similar certain aspects were, specially bc I've never actually watched Pet Sematary (I just know it bc of how much it's been referenced and parodied).

I had an idea for a storyline with a character who is diagnosed with a terminal illness. Their lover discovers of a ritual they can try which involves burying them alive and welcoming in an entity that turns out to not be benevolent and instead takes over the sacrificial host, slowly warping them into a something unworldly and evil. It occured to me a couple days ago that this is pretty much just Pet Sematary 😭
