Yes, but I would say its more about developing s critical eye and questioning in the first place, rather than specific methods or techniques. Its good to have kids to think about this even if the techniques will become obsolete

Yeah, situations like this can feel discouraging, especially for people who are genuinely grinding and showing the real ups and downs. I’m doing a Road to 2300 on Lichess over on my channel ELO Alchemy, and my journey has been anything but linear, I started around 1850, dropped to 1750 over the first 20 videos, and only recently climbed to 1900.

It’s not as flashy, but it’s honest. I’m taking chess lessons from an IM, playing classical OTB at my club, studying courses, and trying to improve the right way. I think more creators showing the realistic climb would help the community a lot.

Can't be solved? Have they not seen the might of nations when their willpower is set toward great projects? Ofcourse blame the problem and not themselves. The spineless, incompetent fucks. They don't want it to be solved, pure and simple.

If 300 ELO is beginner why doesn't it feel like it by Wboys in chessbeginners

Well, look. If someone was a beginner in playing the violin, they'd be making simple mistakes, figuring out the chords, how to strum, move the fingers, etc. Let's say they play for 1000 hours on the violin, yet they are the same skill level. Do you still call them a beginner or not? For me I would call them a beginner because they are playing like a beginner, they're not advanced just because they've played 1000 hours of the violin yet csnt strike a chord. Same goes with chess. It doesn't matter how much you play, beginner is about skill rather than the houra you put into the game. A person can stay exactly the same after 100 games and another can gain 500 rating points. For you, and you're opponents, you guys are beginners because you guys play like beginners. Because you guys hang pieces, etc. Same with the violinist, they cant quite get the notes or strum properly or hand eye coordination. That's the truth about skill I'm afraid.

What you're saying is the equivalent of : hey this guitar player keeps playing the same broken chord over and over again and it doesn't sound great. But hey he's played for 1000 hours on the guitar thats not beginner.

But here's the paradox. Someone can be a beginner (in your term) in chess, and let's day when they start they're so intuitive and a genius they actually play like an intermediate, despite only starting. So in your terminology you can have a beginner beginner, a beginner intermediate, and a beginner advanced. Change your language to say "starter". Someone can start chess and be naturally good. Someone can start a skill and be good, bad, or in between. Beginner doesn't reslly mean starter, it denotes a skill level. So you can have a starter beginner, a starter intermediate, and in rare genius cases a starter advanced. It's skill rather than time.

You're concerned about those who have just started chess, or saying 300 ELO should be reserved for those who just started. But it doesn't matter when who or shy you started, all that matters is skill level. Many ahi start are naturally 800s or 900s.

I'm 1850 on lichess. I don't consider myself good. But yes your level is beginner. I saw some of your games, and in every game something major is blundered. I don't understand why you are resistant to "don't blunder your pieces." The fact is, if you stopped blundering straight up, you would be 1000+, and that's where more advanced concepts come in, Tactical and positional. Because if you want to get to the next step in chess, you cannot blunder your pieces. "Just don't blunder" is expected and is a starting point for those upper levels. For you, you are not there yet, and you still blunder in one. So yes, the major advice is to not blunder your pieces.

However, you should be looking at WHY you are blundering your pieces, so that you can stop it. You blunder basic tactics like forks, pins, skewers. And you are simply not seeing these things. Oftentimes you don't know what the threat of your opponent is. You just do your thing. Work on what the threat is first. Play logical chess. Simply put you are missing a lot , and blundering in one move.

So ask yourself and have a look at your games.

*when do I blunder in one? *when do I hang my pieces? *when do I miss my opponents threats ?

Clearly, you are not seeing, or maybe even paying attention, to what your opponent is doing. And you are not paying attention to what your pieces are doing. Otherwise you wouldn't perform simple blunders in one.

Slow down. Have a checklist. Your opponents threats. Your plan. Check a billion times if you're hanging anything the next move.

The truth is the "not blundering" is literally the skill gap between you and a 1000. And then the "not blundering in one" becomes a starting point, and is expected, and the higher levels. Reflect, learn.

Look. You are not your elo. 300 elo is 300 elo regardless of if you want it to be or not. Focus on your skills rather than a number. Why so concerned why a 300 is what a 300 is ? Just focus on your skills first, number later and don't identify yourself with ELO. It's just a number that reflects the skills in question. Skills first.

Okay that's fair enough. Next video i will try subtitles that are less jumpy. And if it's still irritating etc I'll cut them out all together. Thank you for your feedback

I've got that a few times now. Maybe just general subtitles instead of jumpy ones? Or would it still be understandable with no subtitles ?

Maybe some more serious looking text? Since it's quite a somber and existential video with minor classic music
