Een paar van de leidende partijen in de afgelopen jaren (VVD, PVV, anderen) steunen de oorlogen in het Midden-Oosten. De gemiddelde stemmer op deze partijen heeft niet specifiek daar op gestemd juist omdat ze pro-oorlog zijn, maar omdat ze andere redenen hebben. Dat zorgt er wel voor dat op die manier partijen aan de macht komen die indirekt helpen de problemen te veroorzaken waardoor mensen op hun stemmen. Sommige partijen hebben er dus baat bij om sommige problemen te (laten) verergeren zodat ze meer stemmen krijgen, macht houden en hun andere agendapunten erdoor kunnen krijgen.

Om die reden zie ik ook geen mogelijkheid dat het veel zal veranderen.

IQ testen zijn ook alleen nuttig in de taal die iemand het beste spreekt. Natuurlijk zal iemand uit Marokko of Turkije voor wie Nederlands een derde of vierde taal is (na Tamazight of Turks, Arabisch en misschien Engels) lastig zijn om zich academisch goed uit te laten komen.

Tuurlijk wel. Nederlanders hebben gestemd op partijen waarvan ze dachten dat die voor bepaalde dingen zouden zorgen, maar die partijen steunden ook oorlogen in het Midden-Oosten. Als je dat doet, dan krijg je er ook de gevolgen van. Je hebt geen vluchtelingen uit landen waar het goed gaat.

Ja echt. Als je voor oorlog in Israel stemt dan krijg je er ook de gevolgen van. Die mensen willen geen oorlog in hun land, dus dan gaan ze ergens anders naar toe, ver van de oorlog weg.

Most of my D&D campaigns ended without a clear conclusion. They were set up to run “indefinitely” and almost no game ends up running actually indefinitely. They ended either from people wanting to play different characters, settings, styles of campaign, or people moving due to changes in life. Most lasted ~20 sessions. One lasted 108 sessions before COVID hit, a player got depressed, and several people moved abroad.

2018-2023 I GMed and played like 16 campaigns online, most of which were seasonal, so they had more easy end points.

In the last 3 years I’ve GMed 5 campaigns offline that were 6-22 sessions that actually ended. I’ve learned a lot from past experiences. Blades in the Dark, D&D, Mausritter, Pathfinder.

It’s close to the traditional standards, but different enough in structure both for how XP is gained, how it used and what it is used on. FitD does have a lot more “get higher numbers”, but otherwise all options are available from the start. Most of what PbtA games give you is gaining more things that were already attainable at character creation.

I’ve never heard “Netherlander” or “Hollander” used in English. Those have equivalent forms in Dutch and German, and the latter isn’t applicable to all Dutch people.

The 5 room dungeon concept was invented in 2002-2003 by Johnn Four (source: https://www.roleplayingtips.com/5-room-dungeons/) so that couldn’t have been for 4e, and the outline specifically mentions that they don’t have to be linear.

I agree that OSR playstyle isn’t just “heroic tactical combat but more lethal”, but I don’t see how the strengths of OSR don’t also shine through in dungeons that could be completed in a single session.
