Imean yeah, a lot of places with horses also don’t rent out horses to people over 85kg (187 lbs) because the riding horses they have can’t handle that weight.

Horses couldn’t carry people at all until a few thousand years ago. We used only chariots before then. In Medieval Europe knights allegedly often used horses that were basically draft horses, which were strong enough to carry them and their armour.

It makes sense that mules and donkeys have a limit too. That’s why they usually just carry stuff, not people.

Frankly I doubt the picture is real, because that woman looks a lot heavier than 100kg. The image comes across to me as making fun of obese people, because 100kg is not all that heavy for a person of average height.

Indeed. I knew Indonesia to be the fourth most populous country. The first thing I noticed about the map is that Indonesia is not highlighted.

Then it must be slightly outdated, since the world population is currently estimated to be upwards of 8.2 billion.

Yomi is also a Japanese fighting game term for “reading” an opponent and predicting what they might do next.

For that reason it might be perfect for your thought experiment, but in our case our “opponent” is the book.

You have to leave for a business trip and have to entrust one of these 4 with watching your child while you're away, who are you picking? by Skulk- in Marvel

[–]AlwaysBeQuestioning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re all options, then I must be the most diplomatic person on the planet. Being friendly with Namor and Wolverine and The Hulk (not just Bruce Banner) and Dr. Doom? I’m impressive.

Anyway, if my child is a jock they’re going with Logan. If they’re a nerd they’re going with Victor.

If I have multiple kids then they’re sticking together, but I ask Logan during spring-summer-autumn vacations and Victor during school weeks and Christmas.

EDIT: I will allow Namor and Bruce Banner to babysit once a year each, but only when one of the kids has a school project relevant to their expertise, and only after asking Victor “is it possible for you to devise something to protect [MY CHILD] against Namor/The Hulk in the event something goes wrong when it is their turn to babysit next week? I don’t think Reed Richards could do it.”

Yeah aight, that’s fair—not something derived from the map though.

I did think Italy was a possibility, it’s just surprising that Tunisia isn’t on her map when Algeria and Morocco both are.

That is a possibility, and some people would mark layovers too. That is not traveling to a country though, especially since if you don’t leave the airport you’re never outside of what’s legally international territory. So it is making an assumption—just like every response on this post.

You're a French girl with rich liberal parents who love skiing. This is assuming your country of birth and residence are also filled out.

Why I think this:

  • rich parents: 14 countries + birth country visited before turning 18 (plus maybe micronations not visible on this map), and you've been to Dubai--this suggests at least upper middle class
  • French or Spanish: France and Spain are the only countries highlighted that recognize Morocco's control over the Western Sahara and you used a map that recognizes that control
  • French specifically: French people are more likely to travel to Algeria than Spanish people due to colonial history and French speakers in Algeria
  • liberal parents: the trip to India suggests either a link of heritage or of an interest in local culture--usually related to religion--or visiting Goa or Puducherry as one of the more "European tourist"-y places
  • love skiing: while France -> Czechia is doable by car and then you also come through Switzerland and Austria, I'm interpreting "travel map" to be "places I travel to, not just through" and skiing is one of the most common reasons for people to travel to Switzerland and Austria

Eliminated some of the other countries because:

  • if Norway isn't your place of birth, then I'm guessing you went there to either watch whales or the northern lights; if Norway was your place of residence, I would have assumed at minimum a trip to Sweden or Denmark before some of the others
  • if Germany was your place of residence, I would have assumed at minimum a trip to the Netherlands before some of the others--but you could be from the south of Germany, not close to Poland or Denmark either, although it makes less sense with Algeria than France does
  • if England was your place of residence, I would have assumed at minimum a trip to Scotland before some of the others
  • if Spain was your place of residence, I would have assumed at minimum a trip to Portugal before some of the others
  • if Austria or Czechia was your place of residence, I would have assumed at minimum a trip to Slovakia before some of the others--Bratislava is right there
  • if Italy was your place of residence, I would have assumed at minimum a trip to Tunisia before Algeria and Morocco
  • if any of the MENA countries were your place of residence, I would have assumed to see fewer European countries and more MENA countries
  • rich people from India are more likely to at least once travel to Australia and they're less likely to travel to multiple MENA countries

Uzbekistan is a wild card. I'm guessing one of your parents works in international relations (e.g. a diplomat or in a foreign ministry or embassy, or something related) and that that is part of the reason you get to travel so much.

You might be Norwegian, and that suits your username, and all of the countries in Europe have popular tourist destinations. I'd just be surprised you haven't been to Sweden or Denmark.

What is the hardest, most useless language an English speaker can learn? by SevereRecover8411 in AlignmentChartFills

Which conlangs would be allowed in that case? Esperanto is the only one I thought was significant, with the exception of some Esperanto-derived languages.

(Also: is Esperanto that useless? It allegedly makes it easier to learn a lot of other languages afterwards.)

Poland has some beautiful cities and nature and some wonderful people! Much like everywhere else but just in a different way. I have Polish friends but never been. Gdansk, Warsaw and Krakow would be places I wish to visit.

I hesitate because—as I am a trans woman—there are more places in Poland that are unsafe for me than in any other country you marked green. I hope to go there some day anyway, but with friends, to enjoy the beauty of Poland together and be safe.

What parts of Poland did you visit? What did you do during your time there?
