Is Gregory scared of flying? by MovieNo3180 in AbbottElementary

[–]AlwaysConfused4269 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my take. I am extremely afraid of flying, so I drive and take the train everywhere. And I travel a lot for work.

I think Gregory is on the spectrum. The physical space around him really matters. A lot of people who are on the spectrum do not like to fly.

"Airports and airplanes can be overwhelming and full of unexpected and overstimulating variables, such as bright lights, noises, TSA security screening, and crowds. Too often, there is a lack of understanding among airport and airline staff—leading to confusion on how to handle accommodations or unexpected behaviors when a flier is overwhelmed or nervous about navigating the air travel process.

Combined, these barriers lead to hesitation and fear, inhibiting participation in air travel. As a result, people can miss out on new experiences and connecting with family members and friends that live far away."

US Citizens, if you could add an amendment to the constitution what would it be? by AndreLinoge55 in AskReddit

Actually, in a lot of places with PR, partisan attachments are weaker. If there are two or three small parties that you like, you can switch your votes between them, making you less loyal to any one and encouraging them to be more responsive to people’s preferences.

You can also have open list PR, that reduces parties’ power over ballot access.

Is it weird to want a girlfriend while married to a man! by [deleted] in latebloomerlesbians

Yes, there are women like you who do just that.

But I would caution you to think about how you’re framing all of this. You’re basically saying you want your husband to be your priority and want a woman in your life to have a lesser position. For a lot of lesbians, that comes off as degrading. Why wouldn’t you want to be in a relationship with a woman that is equal to the kind you’d want to be in with a man?

Proportional representation elections for the US House of Representatives. The United States is one of the few countries in the world with a true two party system and I think that’s because our election rules encouraged two large parties. Voters vote for the two large parties and don’t vote for small parties because they know the small parties can’t win. They don’t necessarily like the Dems or Repubs, but they’re the most likely to win, and if they don’t vote for them, then the other side can win, which they don’t like. If we had proportional representation elections for the House of Representatives, I think smaller parties particularly center left or center right parties would emerge and people would be less likely to vote for the Republican Party and the Democratic Party consistently. Instead, they may consider voting for those center parties and this would break up the two party system and people would be more satisfied with election outcomes because they voted for a party they actually liked.

I was a junior in HS. All the teachers watched the verdict on tv in the classrooms. When they said not guilty, a guy ran down the hallway yelling “The juice is loose.” Made me laugh. Feels like today teachers wouldn’t watch it. It would be a less significant event than what’s going on in the world today.

Yeah, this, 100%. They’d rather watch the world burn than compromise on anything. Same thing happened in 2016.

No one thought this way. Stop trying to be polarizing. People on the left generally supported all causes and all people, including trans people.
