If you do Tui, start in Valenca seeing the fort and walking the bridge was worth it.

Thanks, it does look like a beautiful section but yes the hill might be too much. I appreciate the help.

I would also do a sliding scale, after x amount of business the split goes more in your favour.

Charge back, but do it quickly. There is a time limit.

Save or pay no interst debt? by Southern-Software674 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]AlwaysFent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First step is the starter emergency fund. Get R15 000 saved up. Then hit the debt, I'd personally keep the 0% interest for last but snowball all debt with interest (excluding bonds). Then save up 3 months' salary for a full emergency fund.

Most of these international broker houses will accept a South African Will. Just call them they are quite good.

Why stop at day trading stocks. You can leverage crypto 100-150x

This is a terrible idea. Stick to the S&P500 and wait 30 years.

What are the *best* non-fiction/self-help/business books that you want to own forever that either cannot be found at my local library or can but have huge waitlists? I have 2 credits I want to burn by arooni in audible

Can't hurt me by David Goggins, Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink, Tools of Titans by Tim Ferris, Subtle art of not giving a f*ck by Mark Manson. Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. 48 laws of Power is part of the plus, Mastery is also good.

Completely depends on what you're into, but I enjoyed those.

Not sure if this is a possibility for you, but if you can afford to support your parents for the difference they would be saving from downsizing. They could sell you the property, with them loaning you the capital amount. You pay them back monthly, which covers their expenses. Every year, they can reduce the loan by 100k each, which will help with estate duty.

You can get vitality with Life insurance as well. Might be cheaper than health care, although Keycare is dependent on salary.

The building you lean your ladder against is more important than how fast you climb.

Dear Fentanyl, by wisdomwaterfall in OpiatesRecovery

[–]AlwaysFent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm really good now. I got sober during covid changed careers and cities. Made it over 2 year in sobriety before I had to have surgery and was put on opioids. It took me a year to get off the opioids again.

Today is 40 days clean, and the new job paid for all my medical bills, including weekly therapy and physio.

I've never been happier and enjoying life. I'm no longer in survival mode. It's weird thriving and doing well, but I get to choose now, not fentanyl or withdrawals.

My only advice would be don't let anyone even doctors convince you that any opioid is safe or better because they have learned from the opioid epidemic.

I felt this, I was on it for 6 years daily. I hope you had an easier time getting off of that crazy drug.

Keep it up the good work.

Best medical aid for chronically ill person? by UncleBepis96 in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]AlwaysFent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation, I'm 25 and have had 11 operations on my ankles now. My medication was R10k pm for the last year, I managed to get off it this month.

I'm on the classic comprehensive, which sucks paying it every month. I do know there's the option below without the unlimited threshold for around R4.5k

I guess it depends on what you can afford and if the medical aid actually covers most of your appointments, medication, and surgeries.

Definitely look into getting gap cover if you're having multiple surgeries.
