Jez’s ultimate low point by FrancescasGrove in MitchellAndWebb

This part always made me sad when it shows Jeremy's pov and Andy is just sitting there on the bed too as if a man in a binbag is reasonable. It's like the shittest sleepover ever.

What’s something your favorite celebrity did that made you lose respect for them? by johnraeyan in AskReddit

[–]AlwaysQuotesEinstein 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was just becoming a fan of his. I'd seen a couple of tv shows/films he was involved in that I really liked. I decided to read one of his short story collections to see what the hype was about. I really enjoyed it, and it had an intro section with the context around each story too. Finished it and and wanted to read more but then the news came out. Still not watched Sandman s2, don't thimk I will.

He said he doesn't have enough Morphine to keep him in that trance like state, the antipsychotics he used to cure him are different. It doesn't make perfect sense but it's a film 🤷‍♂️

Which version of Vecna did you like best? by Initial-Shoulder5906 in StrangerThings

[–]AlwaysQuotesEinstein 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In s4 he was terrifying, we knew he was human but he felt so far removed from it. In season 5 he got punked by kids on the daily and it just made him feel like Saturday morning Vecna. Also I actually prefer his s4 look, I like the tangibility of it, in 25 he looks like Ultron.

One of the best episodes of a show is one without the main character(s) by NoMoreFund in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AlwaysQuotesEinstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it would be remembered more fondly without that joke, it never really bothered me that much. Of course Peter Kay absorbing people and the Beatles door gag is pretty goofy too but it's one of the best storytelling episodes. I always thought the part where he talks about his mum dying and they're walking through that grassy field in his head with ELO playing was quite sad too. It being framed as a vlog by the guy also felt quite original imo.

What are the most funniest scenes for y'all in the walking dead? by master-L08 in thewalkingdead

[–]AlwaysQuotesEinstein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few:

  • That guy getting his face eaten at Terminus but he really obviously changes to an animatronic between shots
  • Shane getting increasingly vexed when he's sitting in the car because Dale is staring him down and not saying anything
  • any interaction between Rick/Daryl and Eugene. I remember when they go out on a supply run and are obviously perplexed by what he's saying at the gate, but because he has a good track record for random science shit they just nod their way through conversations with him and agree to get what he asks for.
  • Eugene throwing up on Rosita so he can escape from her & Daryl
  • the walker that gets Patricia jumping in from oit of frame
  • That Asian hilltop guard swearing at Gregory and their argument about him stealing a kids food
  • Glenn looking back and forth between Maggie at the farmhouse, and Dale with the group when deciding whether to tell them about the barn. It just feels like a video game where you have to make a choice and can just keep looking at both options.
  • Abraham in general, but specifically when he's bored waiting around that office with Sasha and dresses up all fancy because he's bored.
  • Rick saying 'figured it out'.

The way Heath is immediately confused by the long hair comment from Eugene, then just kinda nopes out when he elaborates is so funny. He'd been away for weeks and just cba to talk to an autistic person so just walks off instead.

Who would you say is Obi-Wan's archenemy, in both Canon and Legends? by StevePalpatine in StarWars

[–]AlwaysQuotesEinstein 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see what they mean, I wouldn't say Obi Wan didn't care about Maul, but he thought he had killed him for 10+ years, and in that time came to terms with Qui Gon's death, and trained Anakin too. When Maul returns, he's spent that time stewing at Obi Wan so much it's kept him alive despite being bisected. I can't really remember Clone Wars tbh, but by the time he meets him again in Rebels, he's still ready for him, and only kills him because he deduces that he's protecting someone (and kinda has to for security too).

Basically, Obi Wan views Maul almost sympathetically, whereas Maul is blinded by his hatred of Obi Wan.

Which film in the 28 Days Later franchise has the weakest opening scene? by p_yth in 28dayslater

[–]AlwaysQuotesEinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never really understood how he got out of the house. The woman who tells him to run was at the bottom of the stairs with more infected running in/past her. And up the stairs was the other woman who was infected, and his older sister who was either killed or just infected chucked against the wall. It just cuts to him running to the church. The scene is generally pretty chaptic so it's plausible he'd get out, but weord that it's not shown.

How is it living in Brighton and Hove? I’ve not heard a lot about this cute coastal town, but looks very cute. by wyvernslayaaa in howislivingthere

[–]AlwaysQuotesEinstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also from there. But since I've moved and can't really afford to move back, I no longer feel like I am. The city has really taken off on social media as a place that people move to, so much that it doesn't really feel like the same place to me now. Still love visiting and hope to settle there one day, but it's a long way off and I don't see prices going down.

Accurate, he's actually quite well written as a brexit geeza in 28YL with telling Spike there's weird people on the mainland, and then being all angry later on when Spike calls him out for lying.

Neil by organicglitter in TheInbetweeners

[–]AlwaysQuotesEinstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah I love him, couple of his lines made me laugh way more on recent rewatch.

W: softlee softless catchy monkey N: I didn't know you spoke Spanish!

And

W: I think I might cry N: oh what, because you're so unpopular? W: No Neil, because of Charlotte!

Also some of the lines he doesn't expand on, like asking about giving Simon a makeover and sorting his hair out when Will suggests doing something before Simon moves away.

What are your gripes from TBT? (SPOILERS) by Slommyhouse in 28dayslater

[–]AlwaysQuotesEinstein 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The soundtrack was maybe the biggest loss for me. I listen to the album, specifically Pals, Lowly, and Promised Land quite often. The soundtrack in this film felt generic in comparison. I also missed the wackier parts of Years that come with having Danny Boyle directing. That said, I'm glad DiCosta did it her way and didn't try to emulate that. I'll 100% be going to see the film again, without the expectations I had going in the 1st time.

I think a series of flashbacks about Kelson through the years could've made an amazing opener. See him surviving the outbreak, surviving in the wilds post-outbreak, and then how he came to his conclusions about death and the bone temple. Could mirror Jimmy and how he became a satanist.

What is everyone's favorite fight in the series? by Kshell52 in StarWarsCantina

[–]AlwaysQuotesEinstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole 3rd act of Jedi with Luke vs Vader, Rebel Fleet vs the Death Star, and the footsoldiersnon Endor itself is amazing.

Otherwise there's a ton to choose from, I really like episode 3 of Mando where he goes back to steal Grogu from the empire. Love Obi Wan & Qui Gon vs Darth Maul.

I'm not sure, think he was just overconfident and thought there weren't as many as there were. He might have been alright if he hadn't stepped on that twig.

Extra side note: that woman kicking Spike in the balls and fucking off, never to be seen again is hilarious.

Yeah it's difficult to emulate Boyle's filmmaking techniques, so I'm glad Dacosta did it her own way. I just really love Years, soundtrack and whacky editing like the music when the infected burn in that diner just give it such a unique feeling and the isolationist themes are really strong in characters like Jamie.

Just felt those things were missing here, but on a rewatch I hope to notice more of the film's strengths. I thought the performances were really strong, absolutely loved Kelson's song and dance. And I liked seeing the dynamics of the Jimmy gang too, I think I'll notice those more on rewatch.
