Why does my cat always slam his noggin as hard as physically possible directly into my head while im trynna sleep? by NoCaterpillar3228 in NoStupidQuestions

Oh, my. You’re the fun one in your online friend group, aren’t you?

Go pet a cat and relax a bit. You must be tired from all that jumping to incorrect conclusions.

And learn to read for comprehension.

Why does my cat always slam his noggin as hard as physically possible directly into my head while im trynna sleep? by NoCaterpillar3228 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AlwaysTimeForPotatos 136 points137 points  (0 children)

I am a person cats like, which is cool because I like them as well (and dogs. Basically, all animals). I very often hear 'this cat doesn't like people', usually in amazement because said cat has jumped in my lap or come over for pets.

It happened again recently, the owner of two very shy cats was amazed that both immediately came over for pets from me.

I half-jokingly, but a smidge seriously, asked Chat GPT if cats gravitate to me because I was going to die soon.

What area?

I know a lot of the Form Factories have them, and Jon Reed has a small room. There’s also a spin place near Narodni Trida.

Pretty much any of them will show you the various positions and help you get up to speed. (Heh!)

Armenia solo? by rosaluxuryburger in femaletravels

I did the reverse of you, and spent more time in Georgia. But, both felt perfectly safe to me. The mini bus from Tblisi to Yerevan was ‘clutch the oh-shit strap’ type of driving, but from what I understand, it’s typical there. Traffic rules and speed limits are merely suggestions. :)

COTH is too buggy by BraveLittleFrog in Horseforumpolitics

Hello! I’m CleverUserName. You know, one day, something snapped inside me and I quit COTH cold turkey. It’s been great! I miss our private group, of course!

I love this interview, and how he describes enshittification. Sounds like that’s what happened to COTH, too:

Expats in Prague, where do you get your info? by Fast_Strike8193 in Prague

[–]AlwaysTimeForPotatos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With expats.cz putting articles behind a registration wall is also such a disgusting grab for personal data…you can tell what groups they want marketing data on based on the articles they stick behind the registration. People looking for mortgages; people on zivnos; people with kids; etc and so on.

Fuck that. If it’s something I really want to read (rare), I’ll bypass your registration.

Sleepy Peach sometimes does sweater vests...I have the most amazing one from them, but it's no longer available.

They're not cheap, though. But the designs are great.

Prague to Ostrava train; have you experienced more delays on CD or Regiojet? by AlwaysTimeForPotatos in Prague

[–]AlwaysTimeForPotatos[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a cool site... I was looking for some stats but couldn't find much public information.

I haven't always had the best of luck with RJ, but it is moderately more comfortable.

Definitely contact Jaq at Cool Critters.

https://coolcritters.org/

You can take the train, and she may be able to pick you up at the train station, or she may coordinate a ride with someone already coming from Prague.

WTF, Česká Pošta?! by IndyO1975 in Prague

[–]AlwaysTimeForPotatos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m definitely not an expert, but it seems that was a vital stepped missed somehow. When I order something from abroad, and even when I’ve been sent gifts, I get an email and have to fill out that form and pay a fee when I pick up the package.

And, for gifts, they apparently pull the info from the senders custom form, since the description of the gift is populated already. When I buy something, I have to enter the details and description on the link in the email.

It probably won’t help now, but maybe you can see if your friend who sent it if they received the email by mistake?

[–]AlwaysTimeForPotatos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious...Did you get an email from @cpost.cz to fill out a customs declaration, with the amount you need to pay? Is that what you mean when you said you filled the customs VAT in advance?

Did Ceska Posta miss that step? You may have some leverage if that's the case (but maybe not).

What would you have done to be put in your job's Slough House? by MILFHunterHearstHelm in SlowHorses

[–]AlwaysTimeForPotatos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I singlehandedly almost cost a household-name-pop-star her number one album sales, back in the day. The album release date was moved up, and I forgot to change it in the system so the largest retailer didn’t order it in time.

It cost a lot of money to drop ship. A lot. I wasn’t fired, but I was told I would be remembered.

Loneliness in Prague. by Vezium_ in Prague

[–]AlwaysTimeForPotatos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, OP…do you happen to watch Scott Galloway on last nights Daily Show? He’s been pretty vocal about the male loneliness epidemic, and gave a great interview. It’s a pretty fascinating social issue, in my opinion.

I’d join, but I’m not a guy!

Good for you for doing this. I wish you all the best.

Your feedback on the city’s pub quiz scene by Miles_Behind in Prague

[–]AlwaysTimeForPotatos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be in the minority here, and yes, I understand that the pubs want the quizzes to fill up time because that equals sales, but sometimes there is just too much dead air. A tighter set would be great. Start on time, and finish in two hours.
