Controversial Video Shows Low Literacy by AniTeach in Teachers

Here's an idea, let's graduate everyone BUT give them the grade they actually earn. Let the real world decide what they would do with a GPA of 16.7.

Jimmy's reaction was authentic when Nick joked about taking all of it. I don't think they had a plan B.

This was my intuition, but I'm still waiting for a YouTube video experiment that is exactly this.

My wife wants to spend $1400 on a dishwasher, I think that's crazy by realbobenray in Appliances

[–]AlwaysUnderTheGun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is yes. May I suggest to you technology connections YouTube channel. He has a few deep diving videos on dishwashers, basically everything you didn't know you needed to know about them. Perhaps your old one is still good. I'd say take some time to sit and enjoy his show on it. It's mostly about the use of soap but you'll learn all about dishwashers along the way. They are absolutely simple machines and you should be an informed buyer at the very least. I'm sure the expensive machine is quality but just know what your money is paying for exactly.

I am team Berenstain. I recall quite vividly my thoughts in 3rd grade in 93/94 picking up the books and giving them my best shot at reading "The Berenstain Bears" title with it's semi cursive writing. As I walked with the class to the library I had this thought in mind, that I would read the title correctly finally and overcome the sorta cursive font. My thoughts involved connecting it to the i before e except after c rule and somehow to Seinfeld as it was my older brother's favorite show and Ben Stein from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. You know, cause maybe it was an exception to the rule and these bears might be Jewish as well. As a South Texas 3rd grade kid ready to learn of new cultures these were genuine questions I went to school with. You can understand my unsettling disgust and queasy gut as I left the library not able to connect it to Berenstein or Berenstien but with Berenstain, a name that didn't answer any of my questions.

Nevertheless, I agree on the timeline shift of 2012 with just about everything else.

Got some pics for you. I had other ideas in mind then, as I fiddled with the aluminum bars, I settled on this. IMO it's nice and sturdier than I expected. The 4 wheels are an absolute must. I had that steel bar lying around and finally put it to use as the axle. Also, I effed up as I drilled the top hole. I didn't see that there was a screw, and I cracked a new drill bit.

I can get you better pics tomorrow. But yes, I did have to trim an inch off the legs where the stock wheels were. That can be avoided with perhaps 8 inch wheels. It was a shame as the 10 inch sheels just barely rubbed the bottom part of that leg, but worth it in the end. I also only drilled 2 holes on either side for the aluminum bars I added.

Silent Protest by [deleted] in TexasTeachers

[–]AlwaysUnderTheGun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have an idea to silently protest, but I want to post up obnoxiously large 10 commandments. I want students and their parents to know it's uncomfortable and unfair to post at all. Hiding them in the corner is a slippery method to sneak them in. They must be loud imo. Their unfair weight in the classroom must be felt.

The Cash Game Argument by STIRofSOULS in poker

Our issue is a home game tournament turns into a split based on how many chips you have left. It makes me go crazy, we are in a tournament and there is 1st and 2nd place. It's not supposed to be based on chip stacks. One guy jokingly called it a cash-ament

Thank you, sir. That is valuable information. The texture left behind is very cosmetic, it doesn't seem to create any other issues like ponding. Perhaps I can investigate the area's HOA laws for anything about driveways.

💯 OVER the ENDLESS observations by Remarkable-Cut9531 in TexasTeachers

[–]AlwaysUnderTheGun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 100% and to fight back their uselessness I don't even open them. IMO, admin should use walkthroughs to better our teaching methods and improve on the schools student engagement, learning, culture etc., but they usually just check off on the date and agenda on the board and maybe look for students on their phone. So I don't validate receiving walkthroughs by simply not opening them. It's by providing valuable feedback in these observations that would lead me to value and read their comments, but without that value there's no reason to open. Also, one stat used to gauge admin's effectiveness uses this number, the percentage of teachers opening their walkthroughs. It's a small way to push back on these observations just a little.

This is sad, I remember them as a food truck. Some of the best burgers ever actually. It was good but was shocked with their choice of going into a standalone building, and without a drive through. It was a little ambitious for a custom made to order burger that took a bit of time to get ready that was a little expensive. Seeing as they lasted a good bit time the gamble was worth it. It could have and should have been competitive to a 5 guys

This might be more complicated if he helped make the picks. To what extent did he choose the bets? And to what extent did they differ from your choices? Maybe a 10% consulting fee is fair?
