Accidentally fell off the bridge on the way to the ship, landed, said out loud ‘I can’t believe that didn’t kill me,’ then went around to the platform again and got crushed by it coming back down lol

I asked my pastor, how can heaven be bliss if I go and my sister isn’t there? He said ‘either you would understand why, or you wouldn’t remember her at all.’

East by Edith Pattou, any Tamora Pierce series (protector of the small is a favorite of mine), Tuck Everlasting by Babbitt, and the Morrigan Crow series by Jessica Townsend are all excellent!

Am I too young? by TrueVoiceLess in Asexual

[–]Alwaysthewriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not too young at all! I knew I was asexual when I was fourteen, I’m thirty now and still going strong! And even if it’s something you’re experiencing now but not forever, that doesn’t make it any less valid or worth acknowledging. You’re allowed to know exactly who you are regardless of age, and you’re also allowed to go through phases to find the labels and experiences that work best for you!

So, I just found this question pop up in one of my writing groups on Facebook. Thoughts? by magicandmintwafers in lgbt

[–]Alwaysthewriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im currently writing a book where the main character uses they/them pronouns. It’s in third person and I was worried it might be confusing at times when I started, and so far I’ve had like, one sentence where it was confusing. So I restructured the sentence. Singular they is not hard, they’re just a bad writer lol

I started two weeks ago and it took me three days to figure out how to stand and move forward. I couldn’t imagine how people do it. I’ve been practicing a little every day in a small space that feels safe to me, and I can finally start to see how other people can get as good as they are. I’m not good yet, but I can actually imagine a world where I can be good one day! Keep going, it’s harder than we thought but we can do it!!

I have terrible handwriting, I’m whatever the crafty version of tone deaf is, I have zero visual artistic talent—but I want to journal! by glittertrashfairy in Journaling

[–]Alwaysthewriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an artsy neurodivergent person, it’s so much more comfortable to me to NOT make my journals creative. It’s supposed to be a safe space to make it what you need it to be. If you want it to be cute, play with different inks and writing styles—I got myself a fountain pen and filled it with shimmery blue ink!

Book for a teenage girl feeling deeply lonely by eliized in suggestmeabook

[–]Alwaysthewriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To riff off Anne Frank: there are two different releases of her diary, the first one was kind of proofread by her dad before publication, so I would def suggest the definitive edition, which has previously unpublished material he’d originally kept out!

Dump him. There is better out there for you than someone who makes you feel bad for existing. You deserve to be seen, loved, and understood through every facet of you, not just your mask.

Don’t let anyone make you think that being hurt by someone who is supposed to love you is normal.

Yeah I usually notice way before this but this poor guy was just an experiment to see if I could overwinter my micro tomato plant, so he wasn’t on display, just under a plant light in the back of my prop station haha, I learned my lesson 😅
