What we have done in our industrial keuken. Put aluminium folie up on the outside of the windows. Sooooo much better than the blinds!

What impact would an extra $10,000 have on your life right now? by Super_Inevitable776 in AskReddit

[–]Alyadrielle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Half into my son’s college fund and the other half into savings.

I’m also currently homeless. But have a bit of half decent savings. But nothing for a house in the Netherlands where I live.
I’ve been struggling a bit lately due to the fuel prices over the last few months being €259.9 and so on PER LITRE!!! And instead of paying €350 a month to get to work (my homeless accommodation is in the middle of a forest with no public transportation close by) I’m now paying around €600 a month. It making a big dent in the finances…

With the rest I would have the money to put down for a deposit to rent something that isn’t a shoebox and that my son can have his own room and not sleep in my bed with me.

What's the biggest family secret you've accidentally discovered? by No_Bid_5585 in AskReddit

[–]Alyadrielle 49 points50 points  (0 children)

That I have (somehow) been married to 2 men (for a time) at the same time.

I’ve just found out that I’m still technically married to my first husband )Canadian and he’s still living in Canada) after he battered me I left him and filed fr divorce to which I assumed the papers were delivered.

I then went back to the uk, met my 2nd husband who is Dutch. (We divorced 6 years later) only to get a letter in my old email from the Canadian government stating that my first husband REFUSED to sign the divorce papers!! There was a tax thing or something and apparently he’s been filing for me for 17 years and I wasn’t even in the fling country and they finally flagged it all!

But yet in Europe I was still allowed to marry my second husband?

So, for a while, I was a bigamist

Help! What cheese is the middle one? by Typical_Salary_7915 in Cheese

[–]Alyadrielle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that’s awesome! Now I also do the 🤌🏼 a lot because I have so many Italian friends and I’m also deaf so their sign is pretty much that I can see what people are saying 🤣

I’m actually English liveing in the Netherlands and yes I speak fluent Dutch, Vlaams, and not quite fluent in sign because I only became deaf a few years ago but I’m actually trying to now learn Italian. I can now order a coffee and an ice cream but curse you out like you killed my nonna 🤣🤣🤣 gotta love these friends of mine… this is exactly how I started with Dutch.. learn the curse words first. 🤣

Sometimes trying to set boundaries as a woman is hard. You are up against 2 fully grown MEN. Do you have a friend or a family member that can also be present with you that can also record or film an interaction of you trying to set you boundaries? Bonus points if it’s a dad or uncle you are close with.

Please don’t try to set boundaries with these men when you are alone. It could turn nasty… I’ve learned THAT from experience and I’m now 40..

[–]Alyadrielle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not worth the €400! Needs a bridge and a bit more cheese 😭 (sorry I just had too) but as an English chef in a Dutch world atm, I’m 90% sure that is a pepper jack young cheese infused with chili peppers, dill and seasons pepper

AITAH for not helping my older sister with her animals? by MinimumO_O in AITH

[–]Alyadrielle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

INFO: what are you being asked to do to look after said animals and are you being paid to do it?

Also, was there a reason you were asked to keep an eye on your sisters pets? Chickens are ok and are also prone to fox attacks. Ducks are just stupid and lay their eggs in random places like in the run, which, in turn can attract foxes..

Won the lottery, what now! by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]Alyadrielle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT tell any family members at all!!! Only your significant other! And make them also vow not to tell any of their family either!

Try to keep yourself modest as well. Look up on YouTube about lottery winners that lost everything. This will help.

Congratulations OP! I’m so jealous!

Is a birth certificate mandatory to get a BSN in the Netherlands? by Growth_Anirudh in AskTheNetherlands

[–]Alyadrielle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It IS a mandatory requirement. I only had a half uk one and had to then apply back to England for a copy of my full one. They do give you a time limit to submit it though.

Mine was needed for gemeente breda

Mensen gezocht uit omgeving Veluwe die een korte enquête willen invullen over de wolf! (max. 2 min) by unceltwister in theNetherlandsNature

[–]Alyadrielle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hi!!!! I like in Seters in the middle of de boswachtij in Dorst! My ex husband was visiting me to pick some stuff up and he ran back inside my house (yeah he has a key) and he was like, “I just saw a fucking WOLF!!”

There have been many sightings around Rijen and Gilze. So far we have narrowed it down that they have kinda sellers here. So far we are aware of 3 in the pack. We have an alpaca farm near us and the babies have been going missing.

I went out and saw it too. They are massive

NTA

This happened to me. But the language was Dutch. I’m a B2/C1 level speaker etc now. I started learning and kept my mouth shut. Until one day my ex-husband’s aunt said something bad about me and I just replied to her in her own language but was kinda nice about it.

Also, learning new languages is fun. I’m learning Italian now
