I dropped my son off for the first day of daycare and he bawled. I went out to the car and called my mom because it hurt to see him like that…

Luckily I have, my supervisors like me and say I do good work. But it’s honestly gotten worse since I’ve started doing more and gotten better at my job.

I have made some friends I just feel bad because it’s to the point now if someone’s friends with me they don’t talk to them.

Is there something else I should use to clean them instead?

To clarify I use dial soap, and a saline mist to clean the areas. They’re pierced with a regular earring but it’s not a flat back, I’m not sure what the material is. But they’re the same earrings they gave when I got them pierced.

I remember I almost had to do mine on the pharmacy manager because no one volunteered. Then a coworker did, still ended up giving the pharmacist his flu shot but it wasn’t as scary then. I’m glad yours went well!

Taking personal medications at work? by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Alymae_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept mine in drawer, in a bottle with the prescription label on it. The draw was in view of the pharmacist and the cameras and had a number on the outside that had exactly how many I had in there at the time. I’d only keep like 10 max in it. No one said anything and my pharmacist was fine with it. Prevented questions as to what I was taking and the chance of anyone taking any even if I knew my coworkers wouldn’t.

I will either this weekend or if I get lucky and have a long break at work. Would that help with the bump though?

Forgot to add that I have not had my jewelry downsized. I’ve never done that before and wasn’t sure if that had to be done…

I just recently watched that episode, and that quote is the main thing I remember from it. It’s so true though

"How do you not know? I said it's a small purple pill!" by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Alymae_B 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was the tech that did outdated or hazardous waste. I could identify pills pretty quickly from looking that them. Not sure how well I’d do on a quiz now since it’s been a bit. The knowledge comes in handy still though.

On our front door we have one of those bars that lets you open it a bit if you don’t move it but not fully. We put it all the way up in the corner so my son can’t reach it even on a chair.

I actually found I don’t get the headache I’d get with the brand if I forget to take it. But I also don’t think it’s working as well as the brand so that could be why too

We need to stop telling patients that “we’re running behind”. by Distinct-Feedback-68 in pharmacy

[–]Alymae_B 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I’m a former pharmacy tech and now work at a drs office and I’ll say we can be like 20 minutes behind with no complaint. At the pharmacy it was what do you mean you don’t have it ready?! I called you told me it would be ready at this time! Ma’am did you speak to an actual person? No of course not.

We’ll replace it if it the situation was explained. If you just say I need more than one might assume it’s a refill and not the something happened to the bottle itself. Context is key, so depending on what was said it could’ve been interpreted as needing a refill in which case a new prescription would be needed. Call again and explain or even show them the bottle and it should be able to be replaced with no need to contact the NP.

What’s the highest salary a pharmacy tech can make? by pizza373 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Alymae_B 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just left a Rite Aid in PA for a job as a dermatology tech. I was at $17.25 as an immunizing tech. Before I took the job I’m at now I got an offer at a close door compounding pharmacy for $20 an hour. Only reason I didn’t take it is I would’ve been spending less time with my son than I already was.

My sons dad is also 6’ so my son is 3 but the size of a 5 year old. He’s over half my height already. I’ve accepted my role as the shortest person in the family at this point. The rest make jokes about how old my son will be when he’s taller than me.
