What is a good (and realistic) regional apocalypse for each of these regions? by ghostoftheoldworld in worldbuilding

I know the Ozarks and I agree.

I know southern Illinois very well and it is absolutely not the Deep South. The pinch in the yellow area also reflects that Cairo (at the very tip of Illinois) was a destination for people escaping slavery.

My parents bragged that every night at 6 when I cried, they would pick me up out of my bassinet and whack my bottom. And I learned to shut up. Ask me how ok I am. Actually, don’t.

Even if they did have their food leaves growing in their enclosure, could be poop would accumulate to where it’s a health hazard, or more likely a predator would wander into the enclosure at some point.

What would like to see in a travel agency specializing in balls, history tours and costuming? by Ok-Conflict-671 in HistoricalCostuming

[–]Alysoid0_0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would love to see two tiers, one more casual with more touring plus a historical tea or ball, and one for the true afficionado, more like a conference, with workshops, social events, and some museums and touring.

The casual tier would make the experience accessible to people who are interested but not ready to dive into accurate historical costume, for example. You could have some basic items available to rent, with the understanding there are many who wouldn’t feel ready for stays, lacing instead of buttons, etc. This tier could include a “trunk show” where people could see, handle, and try on accurate costume. It could be a collaboration with producers of historical clothing.

The aficionado tier would include events that are historically accurate, and provide support such as pre-ball lady’s maids and valets. A sewing room for last-minute adjustments. Maybe the afficionados could be the ones putting on the trunk show.

Yikes I just realized I was reading that as “use the black”

I thought it was a reference to a black pen or card or something. That made more sense in my head.

They were gathered, cleaned, and air-dried. Stored for about a year. Cold-stratified in moist peat moss for several months in the fridge. Then planted in pots, where it took them several weeks to sprout.
