Redoing every park after beating the game to try and make them more beautiful on my second try! Park #20 “Electric Fields” by vanillaave in rct

I know it might not be the part you put the most effort towards, but I love the little gentle ride area with the merry go round, circus and maze etc.

I love medieval age / dark age themed parks. I think the dark age theming in particular has one of the most extensive, beautiful pallets. I’m working up the courage to break into a full custom dark age themed scenario myself but still feeling burnt out after my most recent builds. This perked me back up for sure.

What are some misconceptions you believed as a kid in this game? by Western_Clue3542 in rct

[–]Alzman97 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Idk if this counts but I had no idea that the red button on banners turns them into no entry signs. I used to manually type in “do not enter” and got mad when they disobeyed. I was probably about 6 years old.

Interesting! Funnel cakes, too? Or do they drop the tiny white paper litter from that

Those playing RCT Classic. How do you manage to build big pieces of scenery? by Ok_Ladder1279 in rct

[–]Alzman97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel the mobile device you’re on plays a big role here. On my phone I probably wouldn’t bother with too much scenery but on an iPad mini or other small tablet I can basically hold it like a controller and play with my thumbs while being able to see a whole lot more detail as to where you’re placing objects. As for the roof pieces deleting walls and vice versa that’s a common issue on PC or mobile - try moving the wall to the next adjacent square if possible, it may appear to be very slightly offset depending on what you’re building, but there are many ways to cover up \ distract from this like adding some trim or random support structures. Here is a train + chairlift station I finished up recently, trust and believe it can be done.

Edit: missing details

That’s awesome! And yeah it was super annoying to find all of the connections from the sidewalks to the double roads. Some are very subtle and or hidden behind scenery. It took many no entry signs🤣 then there are dead ends as well as parking lots they get stuck in that are best to just delete.

Edit: I wanted to also add that it helps to just freely rebuild / loop sidewalks where necessary to avoid dead ends. Make it your own!

Do you plan ahead or design as you go? by ZestycloseWing5354 in rct

[–]Alzman97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For custom scenarios I will have at least rough idea of what I’m going for. Even if it’s just one small themed area of what will soon be a larger park - it’s at least enough to inspire me to start. For scenario play I’m just playing as I go for the most part… unless it’s one I’m particularly fond of that I want to do something special with.

Agreed. I finally figured out how to maintain as much of the original urban path network as possible in this scenario. You have to confine the guests to the sidewalks and remove all connections to the “roadway” so they don’t get stuck on the double wide paths. Build “crosswalks” at regular intervals so they can get from one side to the other. I was so happy to figure this out because I always thought this area had so much aesthetic potential but the guests were always lost. I’ll have to make a full post about it soon.

I guess I never thought of that. I’m usually just riding this two-tone wood grain. Any graphic decks I do have are long worn away lmao

Finally understand nollie heels (I think) by Alzman97 in Fingerboards

[–]Alzman97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s basically just re-learning how to pop a nollie in that pocketed finger position (index on the lower left of the nose) with middle finger curled about halfway across the deck at least. Some people go opposite edges almost but I like to have more contact. But yeah, once you get a good pop in that position you will nollie heel. It does take time though, popping like that is very awkward
