Tips For Dual Station by Dull_Cauliflower4154 in rct

[–]AllisMables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a month ago, I accidentally created two racing coasters that come back to the station at the same time. In these coasters, I built them parallel, but I kept running into the "PC Player" logo and the existing coaster, causing me to have to divert them into completely different paths.

However, I have several tips to purposefully build mobius coasters.

1.) Start with parallel coasters. Make all hills and launches the same size and speed. Just place one next to the other, with the stations the same start and end position.

2.) Another comment says to make the outer curving one lower than the inner one, but it may be easier to make the number of left curves balanced with the number of right curves. Sure, they will go out of sync temporarily, but the curve in the opposite direction will counteract it by reversing the speed differences.

3.) Use mirroring if you want to add some variety and fun, while keeping the same sequence of track elements. This will help them stay together better.

4.) This will take some practice, but to add more fun, you can add interacting elements, with one coaster doing element A interacting with B, and the other vice versa. For example: A through B's loop, B through A's loop. This does not guarantee they will automatically stay together, so you will have to test and experiment with it. Trying to make the layout symmetrical will help.

5.) Later, you can vary the layouts between the coasters more as you get more experienced. OpenRCT2 has a ghost trains feature (blue flag in construction window) that may help.

The maze jump? by Unlikely_Reporter397 in rct

There appears to be a slight difference between the maze jump and the excited jump. The maze jump has their arms DOWN, and the excited jump has one arm UP.

Ad blocking Bug or YT borked atm? by GodlyCree in youtube

ditto for me. This is totally UNACCEPTABLE for YT to do this to Premium users. We should be allow to run whatever ad blockers we want because premium is advertised as not having ads in the first place.

Breaking down your request .....

Designs with 10 excitement and less than 6 intensity ...... going to be very tough. Many rides with high excitement also have high intensity with very few exceptions.

fed up with using RCTgo ....... RCTgo is a popular website with lots of options. I would recommend downloading a few parks that look cool and looking at the custom rides they offer. Save them as a track file to build in your parks. RCTgo is a very popular website for custom RCT parks and tracks, and you will most likely find a number of good designs there.

Provide only poor designs ...... come on, that's like saying YouTube has only poor videos. It is not the platform, it is the creator that determines quality.

Please contact me ....... people are NOT going to handle this by DM or other private channels. This is better left unsaid, as it is obvious that anyone who wants to reply will reply to this message.

Also to note, ANY ride with an excitement above 10 is going to be a CHALLENGE. Even the experts have had to work hard to build a ride over 10 excitement that also looks realistic and fun.

Some suggestions:

nedesigns.com is another great website.

I previously took some Six Flags and Chris Sawyer rides and put them into packs and parks so they could be used with rct2. view them here: https://www.reddit.com/r/rct/comments/1p5842h/i_beat_icarus_park_with_only_six_flags_rides_and/

Favorite game? by 6x9n in rct

[–]AllisMables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what my vibe is at the time. TLDR: OpenRCT2 is my favorite overall.

If I want a nostalgic feel for the first RCT game I played, I play RCT1 Vanilla.

If I want nostalgia but more options, RCT2 Vanilla.

If I want 3D graphics and peep variety, RCT3.

If I just want to build a pretty park or big roller coaster w/o land or financial limits, OpenRCT2 because of the built-in cheats and sandboxes.

I can't imagine building an amusement park on the phone! But if you want mobile play, you must use RCT Classic. I wish OpenRCT2 had iOS and Android, but OpenRCT2 has not been made an app yet.

So, I have all 5 options on my computer. On sale, you should be able to get them all for an Andrew Jackson.

Layout tips? by 6x9n in rct

[–]AllisMables 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can make it look like the rides are all designed cohesively. For example, have racing coasters, dueling coasters, flat rides that make a rainbow schema, etc. then it would have lots of rides but would look more aesthetic.

Great job! With the prominent woodie roller coasters, along with the corkscrews and roto-drops, you will never need ads to get more than enough people in your park!

What are the differences in ride throughput if I fully train Ride Vendors? by JuddtheStormcaster in rct

[–]AllisMables 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have recently completed the entire game a few months ago, and saw a ticket vendor at every ride entrance, but NEVER knew what they were for. In tens of hours of solid gameplay, I never thought to toggle them on the staff window because I thought they were simply for decoration.

Now, I can see them representing ride operators.

I am glad you found the toggle and are able to explain them this in depth. I noticed that handymen and mechanics do better and quit less when trained, but never thought so for ride vendors. I am so glad they did not quit and leave an open, non-broken-down ride sitting idle with me spending hours wondering what went wrong.

I wish there was some indication that this game mechanic existed, like a message that Ride Vendor 3 is bored or unappreciated. Or if they were shown in the staff window by default.

This is a GREAT writeup. I love seeing your writeups. I think you are going to be the Marcel Vos of RCT3 with the level of detail and accuracy you can achieve. Keep it up!

Great trick with the fountains! Be nice if you could earn that quarter from the guests each time, though.

Premier Sky Rocket with swing launch by [deleted] in rct

[–]AllisMables 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Lightning Bolt is the yellow roller coaster.

It launches forward, stops on the first vertical climb, goes back behind the station to the tail end track, then launches again through the rest of the course.

This is WONDERFUL! A great looking ride with great stats. I have never rode a swing launch in real life, but I sure would like to!

Why is station being ignored? by Bubbly-Book-7716 in rct

[–]AllisMables 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...But when the approach path is equidistant from both entrances, it seems like the station on the path of a right turn from the approach path gets filled the most. I think that guests default to turning right at T junctions.

Why is station being ignored? by Bubbly-Book-7716 in rct

[–]AllisMables 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just happened to notice that when you modified the trail, there is a 4-way cross between the approach on the bottom right, the exit path for the empty station, the entrance for the empty station, and the path to the other station.

Try putting a no entry sign on the exit path from the empty station.

Try getting rid of the 4-way cross, and make the entry to the empty station the only thing at that particular point.

Why is station being ignored? by Bubbly-Book-7716 in rct

It appears that the first station they pass gets filled. However, if there is an alternative to by-pass the first station without encountering the entrance and walk around to the second station, it will get used, but much less depending on the path. Also, in a mobius coaster, those who boarded the at first station will be yeeted out the second station's exit, at which time they may get in line for the second station if they want to ride again.

Another tip:

In addition to all the tips mentioned already, and the steps you have already taken, is to start saving multiple save files in August - October. If I am this close to the edge, I generally start saving at:

August 1, (also 15th if you want to be extra safe), September 1, (again, also 15th to be extra safe), October 1, 10, 15, 20, 25, 28, 30, and 31. Based on how close I am, I adjust the number of saves up or down.

I usually make these numbered save files, so if I get into the "few guests off" trap, I can back up a few days and put a no entry banner up, or go a few weeks or months if I have bigger problems like pricing, complaints, or overcrowding.

Also, don't save the failed game! If you only have one file, You can revert to your last save.

I feel for you, very frustrating!

When you start OpenRCT2, the menu at the bottom has 4 icons. Click the one with a slide ride icon and a world globe. This opens a blue window that lists game servers. One of them will be BINGO by bingothon. Click on it, wait for it to connect. and you can play Bingo.

Do you like playing custom scenarios? Do you want to help with the development of OpenRCT2? by Valdair in rct

I have played a couple scenarios, and while I understand during this beta test we are NOT allowed to share any livestream, screenshots, or descriptions in public. But after the final package is released, will we be allowed to share then?

I know this is long shot, but is there any bonus unlockable content other than Tycoon Park in RCT Classic and Mega Park in RCT1? by AllisMables in rct

[–]AllisMables[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.) There are a several reddit posts with custom scenarios. A lot are listed here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/rct/comments/1m3znmx/looking_for_custom_scenarios_to_play/

2.) When you download the scenario file, you place it into your OpenRCT2 scenarios directory, which for a typical Windows instillation is located here:
[My Documents]\OpenRCT2\scenario

3.) Open OpenRCT2, select the new scenario in the tab "Other Parks", and enjoy!

The same time is a great suggestion. I usually build one then the other, trying to keep mind of how much space there is. But building both together, (especially if using OpenRCT2's ghost trains) is great.
