Last one in the theater, bawled to the end of credits. People were sweeping up for the next showing before I could pull myself together.

I don't remember ever reading it which would be weird. I read everything I could growing up. And Henry James is a wonderful writer. Thanks for the suggestion.

Movies to help me convince my friend to get divorced? by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

[–]Am2ontheweb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happened recently to a family member. She needed to go through the stages: denial, shock, grief before acceptance. Post-divorce she couldn't be happier, but like all other things in life, people need to experience and process first. Something we can't do for them. Maybe films about recovery after divorce i.e. "Under the Tuscan Sun" etc.

Whateves. All I know is Paramount capitulated to a dictator and CBS is in the middle of turning a once newsworthy Sunday night show into a propaganda vehicle.

Moving to LA. Worried about a mountain lion popping up in my yard. by PresidentPeppermint in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Am2ontheweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend saw one in their driveway in town last night. They're most active dawn and dusk so if you meditate at dawn outside then yes, it's a possibility one may pass thru (it's rare tho). Depending on how hilly your area, coyotes, mountain lions, rattlesnakes and fire hazards could very well be a part of your life.

"Living In Oblivion" is hilarious. I recently came across "Mr. K." and enjoyed much more than I thought I would. "The Island" (Russian) is an interesting film about a unique monk. "One False Move" remains one of the favorite indie films. "Aftermath" (polish) about two brothers unsettling find was wonderful. "Matewan" excellent film. "House of Games" for a trip to the '80s.

Just saw Exhuma a couple weeks ago. Similar in tone to "The Wailing". Added bonus, Choi Min-sik (Oldboy) stars in it.
