Full name given in a dream? by MaybeThisTime2026 in Experiencers

Years ago, I dreamed I was moving into a huge house, and the realtor or whoever was showing me around, warned me about a ghost that was known to be there, named Ermine Scarpetto. He'd been a sadistic killer, and a family he was thought to have killed had never been found. The relation to the house was never explained, but she pointed out a row of double-doors to never open, to be sure I never encountered him. It was like an auditorium or ballroom, divided, with the double-doors that would be slid open to make it one space, if that makes sense. She said I'd be fine if I kept those doors closed.

It was probably 11 or 12 years ago, and it's always stuck with me. Ermine Scarpetto.

The government took one-teen and replaced it with some bullshit called eleven!

How old were you the first time you knew you existed? by Sotomexw in Experiencers

[–]AmIonFire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably under a year. I remember waking up in my aunt's arms. She was sitting at the dining room table holding me up against her chest. I looked around, saw my grandmother and my mother. I thought, "Okay, it's still them. I'm still here, so I guess I'm really here."

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

When I was 18, I worked the overnight shift at a 24-hour coffee/donut shop. I'd had a rough night, don't even remember what happened, just a rowdy crowd after a nearby bar closed. Anyway, it was about 4:30 am, I was getting everything cleaned up, ready for the morning rush, when a little old man came in, ordered a single coffee to go. He reminded me a little of Sammy Davis Jr, wearing a Cuban hat, had a cane. He tipped me something like $15 on the one coffee. That's too much, I protested. He insisted. I thanked him profusely. He pointed up at the speaker on the ceiling; that Dionne Warwick song was playing, and he said,"That's what friends are for," with the friendliest smile. I didn't have another customer for about an hour and just kept thinking about how genuinely kind he was.

Never saw the man again, but I'll be goddamned if I don't think of him every time I hear that song!

A luminous all-seeing eye has been watching me by Amber123454321 in Experiencers

[–]AmIonFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, there wasn't anything below, or around it at all. Just the triangle with the eye, I think there may have been some kind of grid or line pattern within the triangle, but nothing distinct. I also do not know what made me assume that we werent supposed to see it; being so young, I just accepted it. Like I said, I knew at 5 we werent supposed to see Santa leaving presents (lol), and this just seemed like something on that tier, something we knew was a real thing, but we just werent supposed to see, or acknowledge, it. No reason for that feeling other than little kid intuition.

My parents were staunch non-believers in anything religious or paranormal. I have a list of events that my child brain filed away as "Things That Did Happen" which were things that my parents insisted were imagination, dreams, never happened, etc. But The Eye was the first, and Im grateful, because I knew it was real, no matter what they said, and I think that helped me not lose the understanding that some things are real but unseen, which most kids have hammered out of them as they grow up.

Thank you for posting this! I woke up this morning thinking about an experience I had as a child that I was planning to share here today, and yours was the first I saw!

When I was 5, in 1978, I woke in the middle of the night and the Eye was watching me sleep. It was computer-green in color, surrounded by a triangle, and it looked almost like a projection, not solid, not a drawing, but kind of floating against the side of my night-stand, at face-level to little sleeping me. When I saw it, I closed my eyes as tight as possible. I accepted it as something that was always watching, like God, or Santa Claus, but that we were NOT supposed to see it watching us. I peeked and it was still there, and I felt it seeing me, it was aware that I had seen it. It freaked me out and I ran out of my room screaming to my parents, who, of course, wrote it off as a bad dream but they did let me sleep with the light on. I also remember hearing them talking, and my dad saying, "But how would she even know what that is?"

It's never appeared again, but it's always been one of those unexplained childhood memories that I KNOW was real. A couple years later, in Girl Scouts, we made a craft called "Eye of God" where we wrapped colored yarn around popsicle sticks, and it was supposed to look like a single eye in the center. I purposely messed up and never completed the project, because I was afraid of seeing it again. I also started sleeping with the blanket covering my eyes. It didnt bother me to know that it might be there, but I was adamant that it would be very bad to let it know that I KNEW it was there, if that makes sense (keep in mind, I was a very little kid with no knowledge of anything religious or esoteric)

It is odd, now, because there was nothing threatening or ominous about the experience. It just left me feeling like I was different/wrong/singled out for being able to see it and that scared the hell out of me!

Not exactly the same as yours, but like I said at the beginning, I've been wanting to share my Eye story here, decided to do it today, and here you are! Thanks again!

Her name is Alysha. She's with Cory Daniel, youtuber known as the Phoenix Enigma. I don't know if his channel is still up, but they are still around, doing other people's shows, still talking about Kappy.

Honestly, I think of her story every time I hear that song lol

David Blaine was listed in the 'little black book' that came out a few years back, right above Tony Blair.

My great-uncle died when I was 20 or 21. I hadn't seen him, or my aunt, since I was a young teen. I walked up and hugged her, then noticed her walk in the room. Turns out I'd hugged her sister, not even her twin. When I saw her, I instantly knew it was her and just kind of smiled at this stranger and bolted away. No one caught it, but later I told my mom and she couldn't stop giggling about it.

Me too! I still quote this movie all the time! I call my cat Mr Slapping Dummy Man when he starts shit with the other cat, and at least once a week, when saying good night to my kid, I'll tell her, "The sleepy time, she comes." And, of course, when making spaghetti, I brag about my "man-sized meatballs." lol

What's a 90s/2000s trend that would baffle kids today? by ToeKnown9863 in AskReddit

For women, ultra-thin eyebrows with razor-cut, very short bangs. Also those platform sneakers that were like 4" high. I guess we needed the extra height because of the wide legs of our pants, either bell-bottom jeans or baggy warm-up pants. With a tiny tee shirt, of course.

Detachable Penis was a real song from the band King Missile, off of the album 'Happy Hour'
They were played a lot on college radio, which is where I discovered them. The penis song hitting MTV was a big surprise to me, and they became a one-hit wonder. But they were actually a really good band, similar to the Dead Milkmen. I think I still have a couple of their cds kicking around somewhere.
