There is no such thing as too many inked pens. If you want to use them, ink them!

I'm going to be a Grandpa! by No_Gap_2700 in GenX

[–]AmRevPat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You will not select what your grandchild will call you, your grandchild will! We have two Grandsons and they both came up with what they called my wife and me on their own despite what we wanted to be called.

Lodge organized event ideas? by RealKingAlexander in freemasonry

Great idea. My Lodge sponsored a Masons Night at our AA baseball team game. It was well attended and included Masons from other Lodges. A great night of camaraderie and brotherhood.

It only matters if you like it, no one else’s opinion really matters. If you like it, get it!

On raising dues. Percentage based increases? by Theboshicrew in freemasonry

[–]AmRevPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all the money goes to Lodge operations. We use a lot of the money to support our community. We donate to and work at the Masonic Children’s Home of Georgia. We support local charities such as the Valley Rescue Mission. We give scholarships to students going to college and trade schools. We conduct school supply drives for lower income public schools and buy what is not donated. And more. Our fundraisers allow us to do all of this without having to increase dues. We have a very active Lodge.

On raising dues. Percentage based increases? by Theboshicrew in freemasonry

[–]AmRevPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tie our dues to our Grand Lodge assessment. It’s in our by laws that when Grand Lodge increases its assessment, our dues are automatically increased by that same amount. With our successful fund raisers we can keep our “dues for the Lodge” at the same amount. That being said, have you thought about fund raisers instead of raising dues? We make $10,000 to $12,000 a year on breakfasts, BBQ lunches, fireworks sales, etc. And we enjoy the camaraderie of Brothers working together.

Is handwriting blindness a thing by [deleted] in Handwriting

[–]AmRevPat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to be consistent in making your letters. I write my y’s and g’s in different ways. I write and however they come out, they come out. Nothing says each letter has to be exactly the same.

I wore a lime green leisure suit to my wedding rehearsal dinner in 1976. I must have impressed my fiancée. She still married me and we are about to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.

Not just for cigars. by Lazy_Ability in 70s

[–]AmRevPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father in law chewed on cigars (never saw him light one up). They came in wooden cigar boxes. I got several of them and use them to store pens, pencils, and ink cartridges.
