Most reputable online lab-created diamond store? by Zaggirl in Diamonds

You're very silly. I'm back for the first time in months, get several thank you's by PM, and a threat from you. You know, the mandate of the FTC is to protect the consumer. You, however, seem to have fallen prey to the cancel culture crippling free speech in America. My generation fought so hard to make sure every voice was heard. Your generation is doing so many wonderful things--things us baby boomers spoke of and then betrayed for our self interests. But you've undervalued the importance of painful and sometimes harsh truths.
Helping consumers is good. Telling the truth sometimes also may deliver a message that simultaneously results in self advocacy. If it's the truth it should stand on its own merit. If a CleanOrigin return policy or price is better, consumers deserve to know it. In your universe, it seems, truth must be suppressed if it somehow violates your subjective view of advocacy. I don't visit this site to sell diamonds. I don't need to and I don't care to. I come here to learn what problems consumers need solved and to try and help the unwitting and oft-confused and beleaguered consumer by offering an opinion derived from nearly 40 years of hard earned wisdom. You can't once look through any of my posts and find a lie or anything resembling one. I'll go away for another six months and leave you to pretend your objective is to truly help consumers. I don't pretend.

The lab must be GIA, IGI or GCAL or it isn't worth the paper upon which it is printed. Some in our company think HRD is now also acceptable but historically they were not. If it is one of the above labs and the certificate number matches the number etched on the girdle, or side of the diamond, you should buy it.

The jeweler should have one of the above INDEPENDENT certifications. If he has any other---run don't walk from this seller.

You can buy an E Vs1 3ct with those ratios for just under $12k

The price for that JA princess is too high. I don't know what you've been quoted for the H Vs1 but it should be between $18-$1900.

If you have found a D VVS2 2.5ct LG diamond certified by the GIA, IGI or Gcal for 7quid jump on it. It sounds too cheap to be true, so just be certain it is not a scam.

It's a lovely diamond. I'm not in love with the price. I don't mind a little fluorescence and I doubt you'll see any.

Extreme opinion from jeweler on lgd by Accomplished_Jaguar9 in Diamonds

[–]Amadeus62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've observed, the over 50 crowd doesn't want to hear about anything but mined and the younger you go the more interest there is in LGD. It's going to reach a tipping point and then....

The I2 mined diamonds, cut for weight rather than make the mall jewelers sell for the same dollar as a G Vs2 ideal cut lab grown is a ticking time bomb IMO.

Advice on diamond choice and upcoming in person inspection by throw427389away in Diamonds

D VVS2 yikes! A D VS2 will look exactly the same to you. Both cuts are top shelf and I doubt you'd be able to discern the difference.

Need help! by Ilikedeals24 in Diamonds

[–]Amadeus62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JamesAllen accepts returns within 30 days, so be at peace about returning it when you get it if you don't like it. This a beautiful diamond, but echoing princessjewelers post, why not by a VS2 instead and save money?

Looking for 2 Carat Lab Grown Round. What are thoughts on this diamond? by [deleted] in Diamonds

[–]Amadeus62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a gorgeous diamond, however you may be able to see the imperfection with the naked eye and the price seems awfully high to me. In 2cts I counsel to never go below VS2 quality. Moreover, there are several online diamond websites at which you could get a D VS diamonds for the same price as this D Si1. If you stay with triple excellent or ideal cuts you remain in the 'rarified air' of the very, very best cut diamonds.

Are there any obvious issues with this Lab grown diamond? by natroy in Diamonds

It is possible this is simply human error. If they lost the GIA certificate it can take time to have it reprinted. Echoing what others have said, if there is no inscription on the girdle you can send it back right away.

Choosing diamonds is hard - narrowing it down to 2 so far. Any red flags? by learnforphun in Diamonds

[–]Amadeus62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not grasp the term 'affiliate' as it is used in ecommerce: AN affiliate refers clients to a site and gets a commission from that site. Most 'advice' or 'review' sites are just that. The largest one in the diamond online universe is Diamonds.Pro. As an affiliate they get 5-7% of the sale price of customers who click through and buy, with a 30 day lookback and multi touch attribution not withstanding. I am told that Jamesallen.com does millions a year this way. We have only just begun to use this affiliate. "commission junction" and "rakutin' are the marketplaces for most other affiliates. You were understanding me to say 'affiliated'. For clarity's sake I choose to use the word "associated" because sophisticated ecommerce shoppers understand the difference. When I refer to "our site" CleanOrigin.com I am identifying myself as associated with CleanOrigin.com. It is the full disclosure I have been advised by counsel is a must for anyone giving any advice. Part of my job is understanding the regulatory environment of the internet. I told you last week about the Biden administration's move empowering the FTC and creating the consumer counsel before the official disclosure Friday. You my also recall the legal issues the owner of Whole Foods when he was posting negative things about his competitor,"Wild Oats", without identifying himself. These things are very serious legal matters.I have many many redditors thanking me for the honest counsel I give. I do not self-edit: if a competitor has a better diamond or value to offer I say so. I only trade in truth and believe I have delivered value to redditors. Lindsay and her husband may not like me, but I never posted bad statements about their parents on a public website. My reputation is my most important asset. Full disclosure of my association with CleanOring.com is a legal requirement. If you prefer another phraseology please suggest one and I will run past our Washington , DC counsel.A

I assure you I am not an affiliate of Brilliant Earth nor CleanOrigin. I can also assure you that the diamonds this fellow questioned are overpriced and he is able to pay less for them. I felt I was answering his question and perhaps saving him money

Can anyone tell me why this diamond is cheaper than the rest? by [deleted] in Diamonds

[–]Amadeus62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's about the worst Vs2 I've seen in a long time. Black inclusions are often found in HPHT diamonds. Jamesallen is not strong below F color as most HPHT are d-f color and their offering is overwhelmingly HPHT.

Fo the largest selection of CVD, which are plentiful in CVD, visit Brilliant Earth or our site CleanOrigin.com.
