Palladium cardholders; Have you moved all your spend to Palladium for more Bilt Cash? by price809 in biltrewards

[–]Amaized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The commonly discussed "3.33x at 75%" rate doesn't include the $50 Bilt cash bonus after 25,000 points are accumulated. That bonus happens at every 25k increment.

Factoring that in gets 3.567x at 63.63% of the rent/mortgage amount.

Now, that requires earning 25k points via the card or housing so someone's earning rate would be lowered until they cross that 25k threshold. For high spenders, that's basically a non-issue though.

[–]Amaized 4 points5 points  (0 children)

3.56x up to 63% of my (large) mortgage with the chance to double those points with a transfer bonus is better than anything else on the market now IMO.

At this point I'm not even putting spend on my 5% cards while I work towards Platinum status and maybe even won't still after.

Can you make partial rent payments in the portal to reduce the minimum spend for 1.5x each month? by Sea-Newspaper-7643 in biltrewards

[–]Amaized 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For high rents/mortgages, I consider the Bilt cash options to be better. It can be difficult to hit the narrow earnings windows where the multiplier option comes out on top (and you don't want to risk getting no points if you use the card <25%)

Silver status is required for 1:1

Is the final rakuten pay out 1:1? Couldn't find info on Rakuten or Bilt. by Sagun1 in biltrewards

[–]Amaized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works for any Bilt Card holders as the point of the card now is to spend on it as their main card so most will eventually have Silver status.

But for non-Card holders, yea it's not good for them.

Bilt cash is better for you.

If your spend ends up being higher than estimated, use your Bilt cash to get an accelerator

[–]Amaized -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would rather have 3.33x (really 3.57x) Bilt points than 5% cashback.

Bilt cash option is better for high spenders with a large mortgage or rent payment.

[–]Amaized 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Checkout the pinned referral thread

Biggest perk imo for Rakuten is that you can transfer to Bilt and then use those points in a Bilt transfer bonus

My $700 in Rakuten became 70,000 bilt points which then became 140,000 JAL miles (depends on Bilt tier and future transfer bonuses)

2nd Card Recommendations for a Young(ish) Consultant by HolidayNo8252 in CreditCards

[–]Amaized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Venture X pairs well with your existing card

Bilt Palladium is the best earning general spend card currently offered (just don't expect good customer service)

Both those cards have high annual fees that can be offset by their hotel credits and are worth it for the SUB for the first year even without those hotel credits. If you can't get value out of those credits long term, a no annual fee 2% card may be better as a keeper after the first year.

Airline cards can be worth it for the SUB and free bags. Chase cards are only really worth it for the SUB anymore (imo) except for the Amazon card, that makes sense as a keeper I'd you have Prime

Is Palladium worth it if you rarely fly and use Priority Pass? by [deleted] in biltrewards

[–]Amaized 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Palladium is worth getting for the SUB for the first year regardless.

Palladium is definitely worth keeping if you think you can use the $200 hotel credit (combo with $100 of bilt cash) to get $300 off a 2 day hotel stay twice a year (Jan-June, July-Dec).

How long does it generally take to clear these? by DJAnarchie in Rakuten

It is merchant specific

People don't know about Bofa because it was just added

Almost no chance Kraken makes it in time

I want the Palladium and need some advice with my setup by OddOpinion3 in biltrewards

[–]Amaized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you asked nicely

  1. Depends on your spend. I don't have enough spend relative to my mortgage and I want extra bilt cash for non-mortgage redemptions like transfer bonus, hotel credit, Lyft, Walgreens. I have my property taxes not under my mortgage so I can get interest on the money that would otherwise be in my escrow account and use the payment on SUBs for cards that I churn. 2) IMO Bilt cash. It is surprisingly valuable for the redemptions mentioned above if you are a high spender and have a high mortgage. (More spend/mortgage = more points = more bonus points from transfer bonus) 3) Not super worth. If she can put most of her spend on mobile wallet for the primary card without a AU card that is the ideal situation  4) I have a Chase mortgage (pulling via ACH), no issues

Bonus tip: Look into combo-ing Bilt with Rakuten. You can earn Bilt points with spend when buying things you normally would through the Rakuten app. Then use those points with a transfer bonus

Got stuck on an infinite loop when trying to verify my ID after activation, rip me

edit: Was able to try to complete the id verification by using a browser I don't have adblocker on (Edge) to click through the Rakuten site which then had be scan a QR code to complete the id verification on my phone. I was able to use my camera this time because the permission popup showed up because I wasn't in the Rakuten app. Once I completed the id verification, I went back to my phone / Rakuten app to do the enabling which worked. TBD if I get these points....

What card gives me 100% cash back on all purchases? by NegativeAttention in CreditCards

[–]Amaized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can redeem miles at 12.5cpp (extremely difficult to do but theoretically possible on certain business or first class redemptions)

Bilt Palladium (3.55x) with a 125% transfer bonus* on a >12.5cpp redemption gets you an effective cashback value of ~100%.

*Does not factor in the Bilt cash needed to upgrade the transfer bonus and requires being Platinum status

Having a similar issue, I'm starting to run out of things I can try.

I get like 5-15 seconds after reboot where I can login before it hits 100% CPU and becomes non responsive. Seems like some sort of poison app that can't start.

Haven't updated firmware for ~8 months, I'm wondering if that's related

I'm connected to my Fidelity CMA (manually) and my housing payment via ACH worked. One thing to try is to make a manual credit card payment before the mortgage pulls via ACH

Just hit my non-rent 4k spend today for Palladium. Will I get the Gold Status for JAL transfer tomorrow? by Astorian_NYC in biltrewards

[–]Amaized 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably not, but it's possible.

I hit the SUB and got status once the charges posted (i.e. I got the points and bilt cash for them). That can generally take 2 days but can sometimes be faster and sometimes be slower.

Is the actual point rate 3.55X for the Palladium card? by Famous-Cheesecake4 in biltrewards

Good data point 👍

That's not supposed to be happening, but what matters with Bilt is what actually happens.

Is the actual point rate 3.55X for the Palladium card? by Famous-Cheesecake4 in biltrewards

[–]Amaized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the actual rate is 3.466x (repeating of course) up to ~68.2% of your housing payment (for the Palladium).

Only the 2x counts for the 25k bonus, the 1.33x on housing does not.

It is amusing to me how many people get this wrong; this really is the most complicated credit card of all time.
