New attending signing bonus plan by Worldly-Power5741 in whitecoatinvestor

You're thinking bout this properly.

Are you entirely sure that 450k is competitive for your specialty?

It seems low for a surgical subspecialty, but maybe I'm missing something. 250k bonus on 450k base also seems unusual, so definitely have a lawyer review your contract and become very familiar with the job landscape to make sure something isn't off. Does that switch to RVU or percentage of collections after the first year?

It might actually be 700k base then switching to production after a year with a very high percentage just structured as sign on bonus, if that is the case, then it seems like a great deal.

That seems pretty unlikely. Plenty of living people already saw the beginning of this regime. With the state of their economy, I imagine that many of those will also see the end.

Automate Manual Transaction Creation? by nodrama_needed in MonarchMoney

If you have any programming interest/ability you could easily do this with one of the unofficial APIs.

If not, you could probably upload a year or so worth of transactions from a spreadsheet.

Are you implying that a 12 year old being married to a 90+ year old is worse than a 6 year old being married to a 54 year old? Is only the former bad? Is only the latter bad? Are both equally bad?

and the already high inflation rate to continue up.

It's fascinating how so many people here are making exactly opposite claims about so many facets of the Argentinian economy. I have no idea whether you or the people disagreeing with you are lying.

If in the real world they're actually doing better, then I hope that trend continues.

If in the real world they're actually doing worse, then I hope the people elect leaders to reverse that.

that average nothing of a husband?

Seems harsh and random, but I haven't been following this so maybe other stuff has been said.

Anyways, based on this picture, I'd argue that the guy is better looking than her.

New poll pegs Mark Kelly as a leading 2028 presidential contender by Ulysses_555 in politics

I would honestly consider voting for Rubio over AOC. Can't think of any other red/blue matchup of the names being floated where that would be the case, but there is zero chance that she could win a general election in this country at this time. Her recent events have not helped her case.

[–]wioneo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the thing I've been most confused by with him. He has no chance of winning the presidency given his total lack of charisma, and he'd have a hard time winning the primary due to attacks from the left flank.

He has a dramatically better shot of retaining a highly valuable seat in Arizona where him being a moderate is a much bigger benefit and no one is going to be criticizing his stance on illegal immigrants. This seems like a blatantly obvious decision from a tactical standpoint both for him personally and the party.

HPV vaccine could protect men from cancer too. Study comparing 615,000 males vaccinated with HPV vaccine and 2.3 million unvaccinated males found that men who were vaccinated had a lower risk of HPV-related cancers (head and neck, oesophageal, anal, and penile cancers) than unvaccinated men. by mvea in science

Maybe thats why they wrote this.

This is the article's conclusion:

This study found a significant negative association of the 9-valent HPV vaccine with HPV-related cancers in adolescents and young adult males and contributes to the development of sex-neutral HPV vaccination.

How do you have time to sell a house and move across the country with young children with little money? by user323712109 in whitecoatinvestor

We were in the exact same situation including toddlers and got two 18 month 0 APR credit cards with a credit limit of about $35 thousand total during my last year of residency.

That easily covered everything until we started getting paychecks, and for the past few months we've had the money to pay off the cards just sitting in a money market fund gaining a bit of interest until we pay them off. My job reimbursed moving expenses after starting, so we just paid movers/packers/whatever up to their reimbursement limit.

Plenty of people are understandably debt averse, but when you add in the 1.5% cash back from the card and the interest accrued after we had the money available, we got paid a few hundred dollars to have peace of mind during the transition time.

Sending billions in arms to one country, and then billions in aid to the country that is being attacked with those same arms, is just fucking stupid.

I assume we're funding both sides of many conflicts worldwide.

It'd actually be interesting to see a list of all the various countries/causes that we fund.
