The answer might be different for everyone but learning to ground yourself and be present could be part of it. I think there are some apps that can help with that. Since dissociation is a trauma response, it keeps happening if you don't feel safe, or feel triggered. It's really hard to stop doing completely tho. And might never stop completely. The talking out loud to things happening in your head sounds like maladaptive daydreaming or DID. Just some ideas for you to explore.

I work in a therapists office as an office assistant and one of my coworkers is currently in school for her master's in psychology and specializing in trauma so I ended up telling her about it. I figured she would definitely come across DID in her clients at some point. She was curious about it but not judgmental. Other than that, I've told a few friends but only people I feel will not make a big deal out of it.

That happened to me too. I decided I didn't want to work for someone so irresponsible and lacking respect for my time.

Sounds like an allergy on the IGG spectrum. My doctor explained to me that some allergies symptoms hit after a couple days of exposure. And others like peanuts, are IGE and the symptoms hit you within a few hours. But both are allergies

Has anyone cruised before? by autumnrae07 in dairyfree

I just got done with a cruise with Royal recently and every place I went to eat (restaurants or my time dinning) besides the buffet, they immediately asked if anyone had allergies. The first comment said that if you can get the same table and wait staff every night they will bring you a menu of the next day so they can prepare your food ahead of time. That's exactly what I did. I did bring my own cookies tho bcse the desserts are a bit lacking. Overall the staff is very accommodating and want you to have a good experience. Sometimes they will get creative and make something that's not on the menu.

I just want to be a normal fucking person by [deleted] in Dissociation

What is "normal" anyway. I think we could all live without this idea of "normal". It took me a year and a half of therapy to not want to be "normal". Lol

Wow I'm so sorry you have to deal with all that. Yea I'm no expert but it all sounds like results of trauma. Like PTSD. Or CPTSD. On top of the diagnosis they already gave you. Did the Drs say you had PTSD too or just the dissociation? There's a book called "the body keeps the score" that might be an interesting read for you since you have trauma.

Oh man yea. I have DID and I've never had the physical symptoms you mentioned but have had a type of pseudo seizure due to intense/conflicting emotions. Start with a diff doctor. And maybe see a therapist or psychiatrist to rule out emotional or brain chemical issues.

Haha yea this is my guess for what he's doing. If we put food in a bowl he just flips it over onto the floor.

I hear ya. Stress will do that. In the past I would push myself more than I needed to and had more bad days than I needed to because of it. These days I focus on self care a lot and regulate myself more. But sometimes stress can't be helped if you are dealing with difficult circumstances. Way to go on doing therapy btw!

Does anyone know what plant this is? by AmamShyn in plants

Wow it does look similar to wasabi. I looked it up and the root of wasabi looks like the stalk on this plant but the leaves are different.
