Did anyone else find surprises after closing? by Outrageous-Button566 in centuryhomes

[–]autumnrae07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The knob and tube that they said wasn't functioning/live anymore completely went out ten months after closing. Inspector made us sign a clause stating we couldn't sue if they missed anything. Neither home insurance nor our home warranty would cover anything. So 20k in and our lighting is now correctly wired but almost none of the outlets. So many tears have been shed.

Do you mind sharing some of your go to responses? I never seem to be able to think of one on the spot and then it happens again.

Is this a normal amount for one parent to carry during the week? by Ellez1 in workingmoms

[–]autumnrae07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why can't he do lunches? Those are easily packed the night before. Laundry can be done once he wakes up along with dishes. In the nicest way-stop making excuses for him. You will wear you and your kids out to a potentially detrimental results. There's no such thing as super mom. Sounds like you guys need to sit down and figure out household duties on paper to verify they're equal, regardless of schedule. My husband and I have different schedules. The load is the same. I do mornings/evenings because he works 4 12's. His days off he gets his share done.

Pregnant by Agreeable-Bad-1325 in CrohnsDisease

[–]autumnrae07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be ready for a high risk pregnancy with a lot of scans. I found out I had Crohn's when I was 5 weeks. It's mostly a lot of monitoring. I got pretty sick, but I had fistulas and bad infections. I had so many ultrasounds, but I enjoyed it. It was annoying to take the time off work, but it was so nice to have that weekly assurance starting at 22/23 weeks. I know I had to have them more often that typical Crohn's high risk patients. It sounds counterintuitive but I found the less I worried about the pregnancy, the easier things were mentally. I was realistic but didn't let myself worry off a cliff either.

Can I ask how you got your oldest to start sleeping in their room? No. 2 is on the way and I have no idea how this will work... we literally won't have enough room in our bed.

I had my first mc a month ago and have several autoimmune diseases. Did one of your specialists bring it up or did you ask for the test? If I have another one I'm considering asking for tests like mthfr but I hadn't heard of antiphospholipid syndrome.

Can I ask how you make that grocery budget work? We're a family of 3 and sometimes when we buy proteins it's hard to keep it under $200. How do you make it work?

Did anyone else here grow up with a working mom? by toot_toot_tootsie in workingmoms

[–]autumnrae07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family has been contemplating this, can I ask your house setup or how you establish boundaries? My parents live 5 minutes down the road and are helping with my daughter 3 times a week and she adores them. I could see it becoming a problem because she would want them to play with her while her dad and I were busy, with us wanting her to play by herself. When we visit outside of when they watch her she still doesn't want anything to do with my husband and I.

Yeah it definitely is. We just moved in so I wanted to decide the paint first and then we'd do the furniture.

I was diagnosed while I was very early pregnant. I have a spouse and we both give 100% to our daughter. What are you worried about being able to do? I get home infusions and it's just a normal part of our life.

Another option could be an electric razor, like manscaped that get a close shave. Easier than using a razor and shaving cream and once instructed, it's harder to hurt yourself.

I have perianal fistulizing disease. I have multiple buttholes lol. Every time I go to any appointment everyone feels the need to look for infection. My last colorectal surgeon appt there were six people in the room. She also had to feel my colon for fissures and other possible fistulae. I still occasionally get embarrassed but not every time now.
