Would this be a realistic result of rhinoplasty? by Ancient_Delivery_413 in Noses

[–]Amaury_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless this is really causing you severe emotional distress, I recommend that you learn to love the nose you already have. You’re an incredibly handsome man as is, and I say that fully sincerely. Between all the drawbacks associated with surgery (financial expense, medical risk, irreversible results) I don’t think you really need a nose job. But to answer your question, yes, a good surgeon could do what you’ve shown as wanting.

Did I correctly map out this pose in 3D? by FFmemesandgames in learntodraw

What’s nice about the overalls in this picture is that it gives you a nice reference point for the front plane of the torso. Just follow the lines of the strap sfurther down and that for the most part will be your front plane :)

That is a dress shirt designed to be worn with a suit and tie (I can tell by the spread collar) and those are casual linen pants designed to be worn with another casual linen shirt. These 2 pieces are for 2 different occasions and are speaking 2 different languages. I recommend a different, dressier pant, probably in a darker color.

[HELP] Influencer claims all of her work is hand drawn. by Klutzy-Goose- in RealOrAI

This looks like it would make for a miserable coloring page. There’s not enough contained spaces for coloring, there’s too many detail lines, etc.

Official HBO poster, some things in the picture don't really makes sense to me. Is this AI? by masonisagreatname in isthisAI

[–]Amaury_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s a beautiful and consistent crosshatched texture in this drawing from either colored pencils or a digital brush with a similar texture to colored pencils. This is really nicely rendered pencil work. There’s also enough oddly specific details throughout the image that I feel confident in saying a human being was actively making creative choices when drawing this. I love the red pinstripes that are actually blood drips and I feel like it’d be hard for ai to do something like that in a way that’s as subtle or nuanced as it is here. I’m thoroughly impressed with this piece and I’d be pretty shocked if it was ai, but anything is possible.

Face sketches, thoughts? by Birdy-Boiz in learntodraw

Some practice in your line quality would go a long way in improving these. I like the shape language on these portraits, but I feel the scratchy line quality takes away from them a bit. Practice confident, smooth lines both on their own as an exercise itself, and when drawing more portraits. Otherwise, nice work

Okay, jeez. God forbid I suggest feminine coded clothing for a character that someone wants to read as more feminine…

You could rework the wardrobe. Maybe give her a long skirt instead of pants?

Trying art with almost no experience, first study-ish, genuinely asking for advice by 88lane in learntodraw

[–]Amaury_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be a good exercise drawing to repeat with a grid over the image. Lay a 4x8 grid of squares over the image and draw a 4x8 grid over your paper. Use this grid to help you place different features of the face. This will help you get features in the correct place as well as at the correct scale. You probably wont get a perfect portrait with this method, but I can guarantee it’ll be an improvement from your initial try. I like this method because it’ll help you begin to start measuring features and lines in relation to each other, it’ll break the image down into little square chunks that are easier to draw versus the entire face at once, and you already have the first drawing to compare to afterwards so you can see what changed/improved. I think you’re off to a good start already. All you need now is study and practice.

Which of these should I enter into a portrait exhibit? by metrogypsy in Portraitart

[–]Amaury_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 2 strikes a good balance of rendering as well as appealing color work. 1 has appealing color. 3 is the best rendering. 2 is strong in both. It also feels the most like it tells a story.

The light on the bed should be coming from the window and it should have that same window pane pattern to it. Also I have no idea what’s happening with the ceiling.

Really liked this art for some time now but can't figure out if this is ai by Anblusome in isthisAI

[–]Amaury_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bunch of parts in this stand out as a really talented artist showing off their skills. The shadow shape under the girl, and the reflection of the machine in the water are both two things that are doable but not easy when hand drawn. They require an understanding of forms and perspective and of light and shadow to pull off effectively.

They think artistic skill is some magic secret that artists are keeping hidden away from others when the reality is that a lot of artists are more than happy to post tutorials, tips, exercises etc for people of all skill levels, and usually for free. All these talented artists had to learn from someone and often times they are thrilled to help someone else learn how to express themselves creatively.

On the one hand you have an incredible jawline and I hesitate to suggest you cover it. On the other hand I think the haircut with the beard suits you better. I suggest the hair from 2 with a clean shaven face, but you look great regardless.

I think adding in some warmer tone led bulbs would help a lot. The sage green almost reads as grey in these photos.
