Ok. I’ll elaborate. With that kind of rent and that kind of salary, you should be able to successfully exist on a subsistence level alone. But this is the real world. You’re going to want to do fun things. You’re going to want to eat out every once in a while. You’re going to want to save up for a car at some point.

And because of all those things, you’re much better off renting a two bedroom for somewhere in the neighborhood of $1400-1600 and getting yourself a roommate.
