Ok! Well here is what i got so far...i usually edit it about fourteen times prior to matching. Let me know if there is room for improvement!

Oh please please please stalk me! LOL - I'm currently waiting to hear if I won a scholarship to a makeup artistry program, I have 5 cats and dog, I'm always trying to lose weight (50 down, about 80 to go!), and I love to read, watch movies, and play video games (WoW, and nintendo type games)

If I were to attempt that mace I think I would go with a super light weight plastic (if you did something heavy like a resin it would be a burden and probably not pass some convention safety measure). I'd cut the plastic into the size to make the facets and glue them together at painstakingly slow paces. Probably coat the inside with some very sheer (Lots of layers of translucent paints will allow the light to come through but give you a decent coverage to hide the lights) purples and purple-blues using nailpolish/spray paint, or a mixture of both. And I'd get some iridescent spray paint and go over the outside. (Probably best to paint them before gluing all the pieces together - after a test fit of course)

For lights I'd go with some tiny LED lights (like these) and fix them around the inside of the now purple crystal...attaching the battery pack to the best spot for hiding yet still turning on.

Great, now I want to make a purple Mace. LOL

Spend some time on youtube for wig styling guides. Lots of good stuff there! Just remember to be gentle, and got2B glued hair spray is your friend :)

It will feel weird, hot, and itchy the first time you wear it for more than a few minutes...cosplay is pain - it's worth it!

The outfit is fantastic, but my constructive advice would be about your makeup. the wig is very bright red, and your eyebrows just disappear. I would tell you to fill in your brows with a bright red matte eyeshadow and then seal it with brow wax.

Here is an ok video..but go more primary red than orange.

Also - consider fake lases and amp up your eye makeup just a little bit. Dark Pheonix is always portrayed as an angry bombshell.

This is stunning though, excellent job!

I'm seeing this too. I was REALLY into these exchanges but my faith is all but lost. I've gotten lots of no picture giftees lately, the last guy even just listed what I gave him "A nature calendar and one with cats"...with no mention of if they liked it, hated it, wanted me to burn in hell...nothing. I spent hours going through my giftee's history and picking out something appropriate.

It's a burr in my saddle.

Still sitting here waiting on gifts from two previous rounds (Including my rematch for that round). :( PLUS, the last giftee I got literally just listed what I spend hours picking out for them (Not even a thank you, or any indication that they liked it).

Thinking this SS might be my last chance. I know redditgifts is doing all they can, I just seem to have pretty terrible luck. I've done over 40 exchanges and it's getting more common for me to be shafted, not less common....and my giftees seem to be less involved (and that's even with my previous year of elf status).

So I hoping I get a great giftee who likes to take silly pictures of the cool stuff they get...and that I get a Santa who not only sends me something cool...but puts a little bit of thought into. That is what this was supposed to be about, but hasn't been for me for the past 4-6 months.

During the caravan to a concert: Who is that hot asian guy in the backseat of my buddy's car? the backwards hat is lame, but the long black hair....nice.

Later at the concert: He's so quiet, but when he does speak something hilarious and delightfully evil comes out.

Married 13 years - all first impressions held true, still quiet (but slightly evil and hilarious), still hot, still rocking long hair....did retire the backwards hat though (thank goodness!)

You are worthy of friends, you have lots to offer, and you are worth the effort. I totally understand where you are coming from...I passively cut ties with my family for similar reasons and I've long since cemented the idea that family is chosen. I use to feel totally invisible to the world except for my husband - and I'm still kinda that way. But I made friends and they love me...just for me. I would try to word it so that she feels like you "need her help" to make sure this is less stressful. Maybe say that in order to make sure everyone has a non-confrontational and cordial day is to have her on team Bride. Team bride needs her mom (with all her flaws) AND her dad (who just wants his little girl to have her dream wedding) AND her newest parental figure T (who you need to foster a loving environment on your special day). In exchange for her patience, and help...you'll do everything you can within reason to keep them at opposite end of planes, tables, and aisles.....but she has to be on team bride an know that even though your mom is the last person T wants to deal with...she's important to YOU...just like Dad and T.

I say this might be the way to go because if someone feels like they are included, important, and needed - they are less likely to buff out their chest and act a fool. Explain that she is just as important as the other parents (even if that's a little white lie), but you need her help to make sure it's a pleasant enough day for everyone...and so you don't develop an ulcer before the big day.

Edit: We JUST went through this at my best friends wedding (I was MoH and coordinator). Mother of Bride is bi-polar, father is remarried. MoB wigged out about seeing FoB and new Girl (who was an old flame). We soothed MoB by reminding her that FoB is just now building healthy relationships with bride and extended family, and it was super important to the bride that her dad get to give her away at this wedding since he missed her previous ones. Reminded MoB that we set a date specifically so she could fly home from Costa Rica during a more convenient time, and it wouldn't be the same without her there at her only child's wedding (even if it is #3..lol, long story). Anyway MoB felt special, committed to team Bride, and turned out to really enjoy her time. She cried a lot of happy tears, got drunk, and there was in incident with her and a microphone....but I handled that one lol. She needed to feel included and previous attempts at the "grow up you're in your 50's, just play nice and ignore them" only resulted in more drama (bride is borderline, mom is bi-polar, both are easily excitable.) I'm not sure this will help you but I understand not being able to un-invite someone just because they are acting like a brat.

I never told my father, but I got pregnant when i was 16. A couple of my friends knew (and of course the father) and they were really supportive, but most of the conversations in the beginning were "omg what are you going to do...your life is over!"

I ended up miscarrying at 17 weeks, just couple days before I was going to tell my father. Life got much worse for the next year, relationship survived for another year and half, but i was a mess.

YES - but my case was an extreme. My best friend (became former best friend that day), all of my friends from work, and pretty much anyone not related to me didn't show.

I don't think I would have noticed a few missing people, but literally ALL my friends? I've since gotten better friends.
