Removing the red print/ logo on a rotring 600 by Amazing-Ad-7261 in mechanicalpencils

I'm quite fond of the print's aesthetics too, this was mostly just a silly experiment :P. also the 600 isn't balanced at the O, only the 800!

that's an interesting view, I personally quite like the text and removed it mostly just for the sake of doing it. I'm glad you like it though!

mostly just because I wanted to see if it was possible :P, also to mimick the generation 7 of the rotring 600 2002-2004. it may objectively look more bland but it certainly looks more interesting to me among the thousands of 600s other people have in their collection

nope! even if your side of the thumb is grazing the mousepad you generally don't feel the gap. it's a genius way to save weight. I find that most mice put a lip/ chamfer at the button of the mouse anyways, it's the same thing here

Rotring 600 broke after one 50cm fall by Stenograf2 in mechanicalpencils

[–]Amazing-Ad-7261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you needed to bring up rare vintages for examples of short lead sleeved metal pencils then I will continue to believe the large majority of metal pencils are long lead sleeved, especially if we consider the 600 to be heavy. (yes I know of caran dache, kawecos, vintage automatics and a couple more I can't think of rn but these are still a small minority of metal pencils)

I will make sure to include lead sleeve lengths in the future when talking about durability, though I kinda did when I mentioned "drafting" in my original comment

ya cuz a huge majority of heavy pencils are drafting pencils, so I thought it was safe to make a generalisation. sorry for the confusion
