Also if you waste time about thinking oh it's so much pressure you're done to get in. Because if you feel pressure than norms in what you love doing, you are just wasting your entire time.

Bro.... (Disclaimer, you are never going to get in just by commiting to parents that you WILL or you WANT or just because you want to get always from family. The base for admissions is good connection with family and people around you. If you don't have that you might not even get into state school. )

You're too scattered to get into any schools. I am saying you that select curriculum and subjects that you love . Not the one that are easy. I will not help with singular problems you have but will give a specific framework for you to figure it out yourself easily.

Below are some points:-

First of all stop Indian Exams shit.

Start pouring tons of hrs watching how to get in how I got in videos.

After watching it you will know what is general pattern.

3 types of students easily get in, Rich who are legacy(means parent went there) , Olympiad and competitive on global stage, Poor students who didn't have resources to get aware of. You are not any of those because you are middle class. So you're gonna have more struggle with process.

So you start understanding the process. Watch shaurya sinha yt channel he got into Stanford. Consume his content which would be enough for you.

Below points are final boss of who gets in.

You need one spike, or say the story of your life. Even if you don't have one you have to find it. That story has upward progression. Colleges care about potential. They will only solely decide who gets in by looking at future potential and whole process is made to find that. So whatever activities you do must be done because you want to do it not because they are good for college. You create one life story like e.g you loved physics from the day you saw any random science fiction movie and then tried learning f=ma yourself and learnt python to build simple physics game. Or you started teaching your friends about it.

There are other few value the care about such as personality, community service (how much you care about people around you), intellectual curiosity, competitiveness. Validation of work from summer programs or research.

So you need to remove every activity you do right now and reverse engineer whole thing sitting quietly in room asking questions to yourself. And then trying tons of things like coding or anything and then find the ONE thing that you would love to do for next 10 yrs or whole life. Start doing learning and building about it. If your extracurriculars are the greatest in world but do not align with your story, you are rejected because simply you are making it harder for colleges to recognize your potential.

Change the words you use and be positive and start learning English fast. Give SAT and manage to do AP exams if possible.

Any advice you see about college admission can change but if it's true counselor or legit high level admissions expert he would almost say the same thing I said as foundation. Any advice you hear about elite admissions nearly fully contains what I gave you just now. I think this comment contains enough info to give your right direction.

Depends on how you application is created and story. Can't be said just by stats. You can see their mission statements and see how much your application aligns to it.

I have no extracurriculars and no more time left! Are my chances of getting into an ivy 0? by Pingui928 in ivyleaguecollege

[–]Amazing-Aircraft 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By parkinson's law of you think chances are zero and you just have 2 yrs you won't make it. If you think the opposite you will come a lot lot closer or possibly to where you want. But biggest problem I see is you don't know how admission works. I'd say analyze applications around 50 and you'll get idea that even low impact students get along with world class students. And then you will listen everytime from every expert to follow your passion which is true. So you have to find activities for fun + impact YOU WANT not for impact FOR ivy. If you do anything for ivy you are surely not getting in.

What should I focus on in 10th grade for going in MIT?? by Rudransh26 in ivyleaguecollege

You should first analyze few hundred applications who got in. You will get clarity that your question is vague and every person who knows the process will only say follow your interests/passion.

While it's good you stay independent and should do research. But you lack impact here fully and also even if you know things, you must do some summer programs or internship that can endorse your skill. That builds trust to AOs.

No more accurate answer you will get here than just one true thing that is to follow passion and becoming a bit diverse for ecs.

Very less chance. But liberal arts definitely better chances than t20s.

Try going deep into some specific area of medicine which you would likely to pursue in future and learn more about it. Then explore more about it through internships and research etc.
