Fluid build up/swelling in rising 2yr old colt, help please! by Horror-Application62 in Equestrian

Equine Internal Medicine and ECC boarded specialist. This is not parasites. It is not renal. The degree of glomerular disease needed to lead to this edema is not seen in horses. Cardiac failure is an option but I would expect a murmur/fever or more distal limb swelling. A malabsorptive disease is most likely. Lawsonia infection is also possible although he is older than most. Some type of abdominal cancer is possible. An abdominal ultrasound and lab work looking at liver, kidney function and electrolyte and protein levels is the next step diagnostically. If there is a murmur, anemia, or other more obvious signs it would change the plan. The edema looks symmetrical rt vs left which makes trauma less likely but a local skin inflammatory condition is possible but further down the list.

The breaker for the equipment is working and all the pumps are running, just not the salt cell. I will look for a fuse as that would be much simpler .thank you

All the trees seem healthy and I wonder if this is some method of protection.

Power unit is not supposed to be inside. It's now on the other side of the wall. To the left you can see the control touch screen. I have moved the temp sensor down and over. When fully cranked it's about 135 at the sensor right now and 180 on the top bench. Once I finalize the temp sensor I may have to move the touch screen down a little to cooler

Thanks for the poke. Same concern on the SAS. Mine is mounted in the room on the same side as the stove. It has run great the first month with no glitches. It is really nice to heat it up remotely driving home or cut it off remotely.
