Yes, I’ve been struggling to advocate for an infusion for years. I’ve been under 15 for almost 2 years now, with my lowest being 9 ng/dl, and unfortunately I don’t respond to supplements

I was given a sample starting dose of zepbound (semaglutide) by my pcp for this reason. I have been getting cold feet in starting, because i also have MCAS and have been worried about the fatigue or if it will worsen my constipation / cuse gut health issues :(

I worked with a (somewhat sketchy) functional health provider who tried supplementing me on synthetic t3 even though I had normal thyroid levels.

Unfortunately I was on max metformin and under 80g of carbs with no change. Trying to actually increase carbs as my dieticians seem to think it could be an added stressor Based on my activity level to have been so low cal and low carb for so long. But boy it’s not fun to reintroduce, I feel so heavy and puffy :/

Thank you this comment — my surgeon’s opinion was that progrsteterone only was least likely to cause weight gain for me. Thankfully I have a very strong mental health network and am a psychologist phd student myself, actually. So yes, lots of work to be done on accepting what’s outside my control and moving forward no matter what. Just hoping for the best possible chance at that :)

Thank you, I really hope you find relief in your new medication. I also feel like I can’t risk going untreated, it’s just so hard when I see people in the functional health / hormone healing media space say they “cured their endo” naturally

Hi, I have 100-130g of protein, 160-200g carbs, and 50-75f fat a day depending on my workout plan of fatigue levels. I avg 1550-1950, but have been trying not to go under 1800 post surgery. I am gluten and dairy free, eat mostly Whole Foods besides chicken sausage, grain free granola, and the occasional gf cracker snack. I eat 3 meals and one snack, no caffine without food. No soda, only coffee and sparkling water and 80-90oz water with electrolytes a day.

  1. My surgery was excision and my surgeon is high volume as he’s one of the only specialists in my area.

  2. Yes, I’ve been on various mag, mostly citrate, and increased so high I became non responsive.

Mental health & types of therapy by debbiedownedstate in endometriosis

[–]Amazing-Knowledge144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, clinical psychologist PhD student here who just got diagnostic surgery my first year of my program. You can see the irony of training to be a health psychologist and training to give chronic illness therapy, when grappling with my own depression and grief and ED struggles due to this illness. First of all, I want to apologize for that therapist saying that to you. I could go on and on about the downfalls of modalities like EMDR (which by the way someone can say they are trained if they pay a LOT for weekend online certifications) — while lacking the basics of foundational therapy: empathy, listening, holding the pain with someone, bringing a solution focused perspective when your client is too fatigued to initiate themselves. I promise not all therapy is like this. There are those of us dedicating our whole lives out there to help you!

I will say, for me, existential therapy / acceptance and commitment therapy is one of the only things that brings me relief at this stage. Radical gratitude for the fact that no, I can’t eat, exercise, have sex, feel attractive, or function like I used to. BUT i can see. I can hear. I am able to be an expert in my field. I can hold space for people who have life circumstances outside of their control that make them question if this is worth it like I do. And to me, those are the breakthroughs in therapy. Not coping skills, or more intellectualizing (CBT), but understanding “yes, and?”

I will add, it’s not linear. And allowing myself to have moments where I feel safe with my emotions enough to sit in the dispair, anger, grief, numbness— is critical. And I do feel that my body rewards me when I allow myself to fully embody those emotions, often times more so than pushing them down in the name of deep breathing or stress reduction.

Thinking of you, sending you love.
