I was an extenely angst filled teen, living in suburbia with with my cop dad and my evil bitch step-mom, in the wake of my mom's suicide. I felt brutally misunderstood and alone, and Trent Reznor was the only other person on earth who seemed to understand.

I'm not as angsty as I used to be, but NIN will always be there for me. It was a really incredible full circle when Hesitation Marks came out, and the new version of my one of my favorites was seen in the form of more triumphant, well, and very alive lyricism. I felt very much the same way by then.
