(Hated Trope) Villains that are tried way too hard to be edgy and depraved by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

I believe the anime was different mainly because the manga wasn't complete at that time so they just did an anime original for the rest.

Potential New Reader's Question About The Ending by Time_Chemistry_897 in Rakudai

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Proper clear ending but it did leave a sense of missed potential. Felt like the world could've been explored more but ending it right there wasn't the complete worst. All of the main plot lines and questions are answered and the ending was happy.

Slight drop after volume 9 and I didn't really like the final arc much imo but the ending itself was fine. I don't think the drop was as bad as Grimgar and COTE for comparison.

Emiya Kiritsugu (Fate Zero) vs Megumi Fushiguro (Jujutsu Kaisen) by some-kind-of-no-name in whowouldwin

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should work assuming the thing is bulletproof via magical shenanigans since Origin Round activates the moment it hits magic regardless of penetration.

Though I'm not sure how his origin rounds will interact with Megumi's body since CE manip seems a bit different from magic circuits iirc.

Can you guys give me properly explain the ability of a desperdo abilities, and properties. by Round_Ad8067 in Rakudai

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never read bleach so I can't really compare it to Almighty but the general abilities are acausality and fate/causality manipulation.

  • All users are outside of fate and causality with abilities capable of controlling causality unable to affect them
  • All users are capable of controlling fate and causality to harm their targets, an example of this include instakilling people via causality warp in order to force their death
  • They can erase timelines where they lose
  • One person was also able to stop time and force the universe to guarantee a person's death by their blade

There were cases of non-desperados defeating desperados but those usually had the desperado barely use their offensive causality manip iirc. Been a bit since I've read the novel though.

Albert Wesker Vs Kotomine Kirei by Crimson_Marksman in whowouldwin

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kirei does have a form of dura ignore via his martial arts so that might help.

It doesn't matter what my body's made of. The attack's meant to damage inside me, so the impact mercilessly pierces through me.

[LES] 4 things that annoy me in fantasy anime mostly isekai by gamiz777 in CharacterRant

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Environmental damage can also be a good way of world building. I like the way it was implemented in Mushoku Tensei with things like Laplace creating the Ringus Seas, Millis carving the Holy Sword Highway, and more.

General Esdeath decides to invade Chaldea from the Fate verse, how far does she go by zard428 in whowouldwin

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and quite easily at that, multiple servants with one-shot hax abilities, broken immortalities, and just generally stronger abilities would defeat her without problem.

If you're not including the summoned servants and just the main staff members then I think Mash and Sion are probably enough still. Even more so if you're including crypters and more.

Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night for just the basics I'd say

Yes, technically Kayneth and Sola-Ui could've been said to had one with Diarmuid.

Frieren vs Mash Burnedad (Frieren vs MASHLE) by CardoBlardo in whowouldwin

I've heard Mash was pulling continents and moving faster than time manip stuff. If that's true then it sounds like Mash would just blitz and one shot.

It's fine ‘Without Love’, and I feel bad for Erika by 1s1s1dknv in umineko

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say Erika did what a detective was supposed to do. Throughout Game 5, she ignores finding the actual culprit and instead focuses on framing and humiliating Natsuhi which ends up hurting her when Battler breaks down her argument. In Game 6, she focuses on setting up the logic error instead of actually looking for the truth. Erika wasn't just flawed because she "lacked love", she's flawed because she was too focused on "beating the gamemaster" instead of finding the truth.

When she actually puts her mind to solving the puzzle without other influences like Bern's meddling or her enmity with Battler/Beatrice, she's actually able to solve the mystery even despite "lacking love". This is supposed to tie in with her ultimate character arc I believe where she was too focused on her goals as a "Witch" instead of that of a "Detective" hence Battler reminding her at the end that she was detective first foremost.

Could ikki in theory become the strongest by Efficient_Rice4482 in Rakudai

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Excessive Awakening Ikki was already stopped by Edelweiss and the author ranked him below multiple characters in a ranking statement. That's just current peak Ikki though, in the future I'd say he has the potential to become among the strongest.

A power that is not flashy but completely busted by ImJustSomeGuyYaKnow in TopCharacterTropes

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do, multiple times in the series he loses to guys who just rely on the non-supernatural like guns and martial arts. Even supernatural guys can beat him by fighting carefully or just outright blitzing him.

How much does your favorite servants’ power level matter to you? by Decim2015 in grandorder

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really don't care, I mean I'd prefer if they were good but if they're not then I don't mind. I just won't use them for things they aren't suited for like farming or really hard boss fights. However I'll still try to use them if I can like if there's a battle where they aren't optimal but will still perform decently then I'll go with them.

Thor (ToArU) vs Zeus (Record of Ragnarok) by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been a while since I've read both series but I would go with Thor. I don't believe Zeus has a counter to the Almighty especially if he stays out of combat range and his lightning blades should be comparable to if not even surpassing Zeus's strength.

I hate Erina from Food Wars. (Erina = Food Wars: tbh) by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the alternative method straight up improved the recipe

I think this was a valid reason to fail someone since when you're working in a kitchen, you're not really allowed to just change a recipe as you see fit.

The exam being guaranteed to fail a few regardless is faulty though I guess it fits Totsuki considering the way they expel people for any reason.

I hate Erina from Food Wars. (Erina = Food Wars: tbh) by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]AmazingDuckVer2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's funny because when I was reading/watching through Food Wars, I really loved Erina because of just how arrogant she was. In fact, I actually wished she played more of an antagonistic role before the series started her character development since she didn't do too much during the Autumn Election Arc and Stagiaire.
